| WEEK 6 EXCLUSIVES
KERRY'S SECRET BABY
WHEELCHAIR-bound beauty Kerry McGregor has a secret baby, the
News of the World can reveal.
Blonde Kerry, 31, who melted hearts with her amazing life story,
gave birth to Joshua in April last year.
She lives with the tot's dad Dean Robertson in Pumpherston, West
Lothian.
We can also reveal Kerry is about to make the heartbreaking decision
to move to London after landing a place in the final 12 of X Factor.
A pal said: "It's always been Kerry's dream to be a famous
singer and she has never let her disability get in her way.
"It'll be tough for her to leave little Joshua, but she knows
that her family are backing her all the way. Kerry's been given
a huge opportunity and she has to grab it with both hands."
Her boyfriend and mum Margaret, 56, have told her they'll do all
they can to help her realise her dream after a string of near-misses.
Kerry has already wowed the judges and will get the chance to take
part in the live finals under the guidance of mentor Sharon Osbourne.
A show insider revealed: "Kerry's caused a real stir backstage.
She's got a great voice and has confidence and a positive attitude.
"She also has an amazing story. She's triumphed over adversity
and shown amazing courage not to let her disability get in her way."
Kerry's childhood was beset by tragedy. Her dad George was killed
in a road crash by a drunk driver when she was just five.
Then, aged 13, she was paralysed after falling from a tree and
breaking her back. Her disability led to her being tormented at
school.
A friend said: "Kerry refused to let it get her down. She
loved singing and vowed to be successful despite the bullies."
Few have looked past Kerry's disability to see her extraordinary
talent. When she performed in the 1997 Song For Europe contest with
pop group Do Re Mi, the BBC insisted she sit on a stool so viewers
wouldn't know about her paralysis.
Former bandmate Sandy Brechin recalled: "They asked her to
hide her wheelchair so she wouldn't get the sympathy vote. It was
ridiculous, Kerry's talent speaks for itself. But Kerry just got
on with it. Nothing gets her down."
Kerry is now hoping for X Factor glory. She said: "It can
only get better from here."
YOU'D BARELY KNOW HER
We all know Kerry's got a great pair of lungs on her...and here's
the proof.
She's already shown her star quality on the X Factor. And here she is proving she's, er, chest the ticket as an actress too.
Gorgeous Kerry appeared in Channel 4 drama series The Book Group in 2003 as feisty Carole-Ann who had a crush on disabled author Kenny.
In the show, Kerry flashes her cleavage, then strips off in front of Kenny (Rory McCann).
She also posed for a saucy photo-shoot in Glasgow in 1999.
Photographer Martin Wright said: "Kerry was a great model. She knew exactly what to do and the camera loved her."
THE FAMOUS FIVE
Judges have drawn up a secret shortlist of who they are putting
through to the final stages of the competition.
And today we can reveal FIVE of the 12 acts who will be battling to win the contest.
Last night the last few acts were put through to boot camp. But we already know the judges have picked who they want to compete in the live shows.
They include Kerry McGregor in Sharon Osbourne's over-25s group,
Ashley Black and ex-Brookside star Raymond Quinn in Simon Cowell's
under-25s, and The Unconventionals and boyband 4 Sure in Louis Walsh's
groups section.
TAKE THAT HELP OUT
The final line-up will be revealed in a fortnight with live shows starting on October 14.
TAKE THAT'S HELPING OUT
TAKE That have been signed up to mentor the wannabes on how to be stars.
The band will appear on one of the live shows and an insider revealed: "Other household names will also be joining the show each week."
Meanwhile, bomb victim Roxanne Gregory overcame all the odds to wow the judges on last night's X Factor.
She injured her arm and was left with scars on her face and body
when she was involved in a car blast in Castlederg, County Tyrone,
aged just 14.
Now 47, Roxanne plucked up her courage to sing Maria McKee's Show Me Heaven and was put through to boot camp.
The mum of two said: "The bomb ruined my life. This is my last chance and I
want to see if I can do it."
