Tottenham scouts saw the striker score twice against Scunthorpe - his 126th consecutive Posh game - last month.
Boyd also netted a spectacular effort against Blackburn in the Carling Cup in midweek.
Redknapp would need to find around £6million to get his man - which would give Posh a massive profit on the £260,000 paid to Stevenage Borough in 2007 for the Scotland B international.
Darren Ferguson rates the 24-year-old highly and he scored again, from the penalty spot, in the 2-1 defeat to Barnsley on Saturday.

Buy him!! A class act. Yes, physically he isn't that quick, but more than makes up for it with his brain. Given the chance, he will do well in the premiership.

I am peterborough fan and boyd has wowed us all for two and a bit seasons now. He is astonshingly skilled, a true playmaker, 'the spark' as adidas would put it. But he is slow of the mark, and if people stay goal side of him he is choked off. Perhaps playing with better players will give him oppurtunities to shine at the top level, but ive seen him be totally paralyzed by organized defences.
In any case, though, if peterborough don't stay up, I can't see someone of his calibre staying with the posh.
Perhaps not Tottenham, but I can easily see him player top flight in the future.

Boyd is top class, quick feet, box to box and knows where the goal is - but doesn't have the turn of pace required to do it at the top top level.
Sorry Spurs...

Spurs fan living in Peterborough, says it all.
"one pace, and it is slow".
"Etherington couldn't and he was better"
Wrong on both counts.

Dont do it Harry. I am a spurs fan that lives in peterborough. Boyd is good but only has one pace, and it is slow. Watch him against good sides and he isn't all that. Good player, but the championship is his level. He could never be a spurs player - Etherington couldn't, and he was better. please ddont do it Harry......play Krancear, Modric ot me
