WINS FOR HARLEQUINS AND LEICESTER

NICK EASTER grabbed an injury time try and Nick Evans' conversion won it for Quins.

Bath looked to be heading for victory when former Super League star Shontayne Hape's stunning try put them 11-6 in front going into added time.

But Nikki Little missed the conversion and the West Country side were stunned when England No 8 Nick Easter crashed over between the posts.

That made the conversion an easy one for Kiwi Evans who won it with the final kick of the match - sealing Quins' first victory of the season to boot.

The first 80 minutes provided only rare flashes of skill.

Little landed two penalties in the opening 10 minutes. Evans replying with one midway through the opening half.

The best scoring chance after that fell to Bath's Aussie centre Matt Carraro, who was denied by a try-saving tackle from winger Ugo Monye.

It stayed a three-point gap until Evans kicked a penalty to level the scores in the final minutes of normal time. Then came Hape's dash to the line.

Bath could only defend by conceding endless penalties and Quins' pressure finally paid off.

RICHARD COCKERILL launched a stinging attack on referee Chris White after Tigers battled to victory at Welford Road.

Lewis Moody grabbed a first-half try and fly-half Jeremy Staunton kicked 14 points while flanker Tom Wood crossed for the visitors.

Coach Cockerill said: "We've had two games - Newcastle and today - where the team which is negative and gives away penalties does not get warned or yellow cards.

"They came to spoil and it is frustrating."

Worcester coach Mike Ruddock said: "I thought Chris White refereed superbly."
