A WINNER without a penalty is always worth a second look — so DESPERATE DAN looks to be the man to eat up the opposition at Yarmouth today in the 4.05.

Trained by Andrew Haynes near Bath, the gelding is no star but, most importantly for his grade of racing, he is honest and adaptable.

In form, his last two outings were victories on his home track. And the fact the latter of those wins came in an apprentice handicap means he stays on a winning mark here.

This will truly be run to suit and he has an outstanding chance of making the journey from the West Country to Norfolk pay under Tom McLaughlin.
