The Plymouth teenager, who came seventh in the 10m platform, admitted: I can’t wait to get back to the village and have some fun in the food hall.
So while the rest of the 16,000 athletes were heading for the bars of Beijing to enjoy a champagne ending to the Games, Daley was off to McDonald’s.
He said: I haven’t had one in the time I’ve been here. I love them so that’s what I’m doing.
Daley is four years away from a legal bevvy and four years away from being able to vote.
But that did not stop Prime Minister Gordon Brown cheering him on in the Water Cube.
Daley said: He sent me a good luck message. The support I’ve had was amazing. I can’t thank everyone enough.
I’ll be back training in a couple of days and working on more difficult dives so that by the next Olympics I can compete right at the top.
