Britain's Lisa Dobriskey
WAY OFF TRACK - Britain's Lisa Dobriskey left her 1,500m challenge far too late

TEAM GB'S Olympic track campaign ended with a disastrous night in the Bird's Nest Stadium

The Brits went into the last evening of action with high medal hopes but failed to trouble the podium.

FLOP ONE: Lisa Dobriskey in the 1500 metres, who came in fourth behind Kenyan Nancy Jebet Langat.

She said: "It was a missed opportunity and I messed up tactically.

"I mis-judged my effort, it's so disheartening."

FLOP TWO: The women's 4x400m relay team, who finished fifth behind the Americans, with Kelly Sotherton, who ran the second leg admitting: "I gave it away."

FLOP THREE: The men's 4x400m squad who ran with some credit to take fourth, again behind the US.

Last-leg runner Martyn Rooney said: "We just weren't good enough on the day."
