After his third round 67 left him eight shots back at the BMW PGA Championship he was asked into the BBC studio.
But the 27-year-old was overheard to say, "Not if he's there," in reference to Alliss. The veteran commentator, 78, said last year: "Golfers are so thin-skinned nowadays, it is quite extraordinary."
Nick Faldo protege Dougherty hit back: "Alliss was talking about us being bad putters.
"I don't know whether it's because he has been out of the game for so long but I didn't think it was right and he ought to show us more respect. I thought it was sad. In fact, I thought it was disgusting."

But you are a poor putter! Alliss was only speaking the truth so how can that be upsetting? You have said the same yourself & have changed equipment so many times you're now blaming that for a poor putting stroke!
