ACCRINGTON STANLEY 1, BURY 2

November 29: Michael Jones and Brian Barry-Murphy on target for derby glory

TWO goals in a three-minute burst by Michael Jones and Brian Barry-Murphy gave Bury their derby-day win.

Jones nodded home Andy Bishop’s 34th-minute cross before Glynn Hurst’s header set up Barry-Murphy to slot home.

Keeper Wayne Brown kept Bury’s two-goal lead intact when he saved John Mullin’s penalty after Gregg Blundell was fouled by Efe Sodje.

But he could not stop Jamie Clarke’s 79th-minute spot-kick — given for Ben Futcher’s lunge on Paul Mullin.
