BOURNEMOUTH 0, EXETER 1

RYAN HARLEY hammered the only goal to give Exeter their first Football League win in five years.

Harley livened up a real Bank Holiday bore with a fine finish as Grecians collected three points for the first time since they were relegated in 2003.

It was a real shot in the arm for boss Paul Tisdale after an opening- day draw at Darlington and last week’s home defeat by Shrewbury in their first two games.

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond was guilty of lacking ambition by playing just one up front for threequarters of the game — even though Cherries need to claw back their 15 point deficit.

And Bond was made to pay as Rob Edwards sent Harley clear on 68 minutes, and the midfielder fired past Bournemouth keeper Ryan Pryce.
