MILLWALL FANS REACH NEW LOW

Galatasaray taunt riles Leeds supporters

TAUNTS: Millwall fans wind up the visitors

MILLWALL will issue life bans to thugs who hurled objects on to the pitch yesterday, leaving the club facing another FA investigation.

And three fans - including one wearing a Galatasaray shirt in reference to the fatal stabbing of two Leeds followers in Istanbul back in 2000 - were pictured making stabbing motions towards furious Leeds fans, heaping more shame on their troubled club.

The Lions are already facing three FA charges - including racist behaviour - over violence at the Carling Cup clash at West Ham in August.

May's play-off clash between Millwall and Leeds at the New Den was also hit by trouble, with more than 100 Lions fans invading the pitch and two confronting Leeds keeper Casper Ankergren.

Millwall safety officer Ken Chapman said: "We are assessing CCTV and will ban the fans who threw objects indefinitely. The referee recorded three objects thrown on to the pitch - two bottles, and a broken seat. Three Millwall fans were arrested and three Leeds fans were ejected.

"Police also removed a group of more than 100 ticketless Leeds fans who had taken over two pubs in Surrey Quays at 9am."

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett said: "That's not something we want at the club."

The incidents occurred despite Millwall chief executive Andy Ambler's pre-match plea to Lions fans: "The FA are watching us like a hawk. Fans must not come on to the pitch or throw any objects."

is it me or do millwall fans have a tendency to vote bnp also?

i enjoy the rivalry, and it is not millwall the clubs fault that every heaving piece of filth from london that follow football for the wrong reasons support them.

the whole game Leeds fans were singing references to the west ham game trying to provoke a reaction, seems like the same thing to me but that never made this article. same as usaul nothing beter to write.

The Seat was thrown from the Away (Leeds) end at the Millwall Keeper. So don't blam the home fans for that one.

Danny, if you've only been watching Leeds two years, you won't have seen them play Man U. I followed Man United through the 70s and 80s, and the Munich abuse from Leeds supporters was truly disgusting every time we played them and sometimes when we didn't.

Surrey Docks - don't tar all Millwall fans with the same brush. After I stopped following Utd I took up with 'wall. More passionate and informed supporters you will not find. I found them a breath of fresh air after the anodyne atmosphere at most premiership games.

When will the FA strap on a pair and throw this disgusting club out of the football league. They are a disgrace to the beautiful game and have plagued this country with their backwards mentality for far too long. Truely sickening!

What about the objects leeds through onto the pitch??

Any danger of that getting reported...i thought not.

And the times Leeds fans have sung happily about the Munich disaster, and made plane gestures down a stadium concourse....i thought not.

What goes around comes around.
