Matthew Gilks denies the Welshmen

BLACKPOOL had keeper Matthew Gilks to thank for a point they hardly deserved.

The 27-year-old made a series of stunning saves which left Swansea boss Paulo Sousa moaning: "I'm very disappointed we haven't won.

"We had a lot of chances but their goalkeeper was outstanding. He stopped us winning the game.

"And we should have had a penalty in the first half when Craig Beattie was fouled.

"It was a clear spot-kick but when the ref doesn't want to give penalties, it's hard to get three points."

Gilks denied Darren Pratley, Craig Beattie, Mark Gower, Tom Butler and Lee Trundle as the visitors rode their luck.

Blackpool boss Ian Holloway said: "Swansea were slightly the better side but I'm happy with a point. I think we earned it."
