NICOLAS ANELKA will join Chelsea's platinum pay bracket when he signs a new £120,000-a-week deal at Stamford Bridge.

The striker wants to stay at the club for the rest of his career and is eager to sign a contract extension by the New Year.

The 30-year-old has led a nomadic existence since his controversial move from today's opponents Arsenal to Real Madrid 10 years ago.

But since his £15million move from Bolton in January 2008, Anelka has found personal and professional fulfilment at Chelsea.

He said: "I hope to sign a new contract soon. I am very happy at Chelsea. I have found a home.

"Ever since I left Real Madrid, I wanted to find a big club again and I have with Chelsea.

"It is a big club with big players.

"I feel I am playing the best football of my career and want to carry on playing my best days with Chelsea."

Anelka's current £80,000 a week deal has 18 months to run and the club's new chief executive Ron Gourlay is preparing a deal that would push the player comfortably above the £100,000 a week barrier.

Yeah!!! Anel deserves to earn more but The wonderful player Ashle cole has to be given more than 200+ a week coz he iz da best left back in the world 4 his defensv'attackng'contribtng and even secnd goalkeeper 4 the bluezzzzz!!!!!! Wat anice player "Ash"

I'm a Arsenal fan, and i know this is not fair to say from a Arsenal fan,. However, i have to say this anyways: Anelka deserve to be pay 100+ because he had shown that he's a world class player in many games. Even though i don't like Chelsea, but i always love to see Anelka playing. He's very humble on the field. Gogogogogogo Anelka you deserve more.....

I think he deserves a new contract £100,000 exactly. He has shown great professionalism on the pitch and most be rewarded for that. He's also a fairly good player and can only get better. Finally "Mr. settle".
