MOYES: Finding life at Goodison tough

DAVID MOYES will take his Everton players on an outward-bound team bonding trip in the Lake District after today's visit to West Ham.

He hopes it will help them get over an injury-ravaged spell it which they have gone seven games without a win.

Moyes said: "It's difficult to lighten the mood but I think a couple of days' break may help some of them.

"We won't have the whole squad here anyway because of the internationals. In the past we've gone to the Lakes to go rowing or gone mountain-biking. Maybe that's what we'll do again.

"I want to lift the players. A lot of the time regaining form is psychological but we don't have any guru here or anything like that.

"Maybe I'm the only one who needs the help! It's great to work at a football club like this, even when it's tough, and you have to put a face on. I'm not always so good at that as I show my emotions and people can see how I'm feeling.

"It's not the best moment at this football club but we'll get through it. I'm hurting but I'm keen to find a winning team from within the ranks.

"It was only a few months ago we finished fifth and we were in the FA Cup Final.

"There's still a lot to be positive about. For now we need to do the basics well."
