Arsenal boss targets Champions League glory

ARSENE WENGER says his Arsenal kids can fulfil their potential this season by winning the Champions League.

Wenger is under pressure for the first time during his very successful 13-year reign at the club.

The Gunners' boss has been criticised for refusing to spend big in the transfer market, despite Arsenal going four years without a trophy.

But Wenger is adamant his faith in his youngsters will be rewarded in the best possible way by winning the European Cup in Madrid next May.

He said: "My team is ready to reach the Champions League final. And why not win it?"

Arsenal lost out to Manchester United in the semi-finals last season.

But the Frenchman added: "We have a better chance than last year because we have more mental strength.

"I feel it in the attitude and faith in the team.

"We have lost two games in the Premier League (at United and Manchester City) but those two defeats have made the team more determined."

Arsenal top Group H after winning their first two Champions League matches and his young Guns aim to extend their 100 per cent record at Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar on Tuesday.

And, in an interview in yesterday's L'Equipe magazine, Wenger claims he MUST win the top trophy in club football to leave a legacy to his successor.

"When a manager remains at a club for a long time, he must leave this imprint. This is what I dream to do."

I like to advice mr wenger to sign the udinese defense midifielder Gokhan Inler in january transfer because we will miss alex song who will be in duty for Africa cup of nations.Inler is very strong and he will fill the gap left by song. Also Fabregas has worse injury problem,so to miss both song and fabregas can be a big disaster to Arsenal defense

Arsene's a great tactician no doubt,I believe all he's said is possible only if he strengthens the team. He needs at least 3 major signings in January-defence mid-field and attack. Alex Song will be great missed when he heads for d AFCON and going by Van Persie's injury record,we cover 4 him.
