City star wants to sign Samba pal Ramires

Ramires: Praise from Robinho
Ramires: Praise from Robinho

ROBINHO has urged Mark Hughes to sign Brazil pal Ramires from Benfica.

The £10million-rated midfielder is making a big impact in Portugal since being signed from Cruzeiro last summer.

And Ramires, 22, has been linked with a January swoop from Manchester City boss Hughes. Robinho insisted: "Ramires is a great player, a youngster who has been playing for Brazil and that says a lot about his quality.

"He'll go far, he'll be a superstar and his talent is recognised not only in Brazil.

"I have only got good things to say about him. If he comes to City, he'll certainly be well received by everyone.

"They should sign him. The manager decides whether City need a player like him but good players are always needed and Ramires has got tremendous potential."
