ENGLAND STARS DISCUSS DEFEAT

What the players had to say after the game

CHECK out what the England players had to say after the 1-0 defeat to Ukraine in the World Cup qualifiers.

John Terry:

"IT WAS totally bizarre and even now the referee has admitted it was a mistake to try and send Rio off.

"He should just hold his hands up.

"It's disappointing because we all wanted to go 10 games unbeaten and it was disappointing the way we played first half.

"But I think we can take a lot of positives from the way we played after the break.

"We have never been complacent.

"We didn't think we were world beaters before the game so nobody is getting carried away off the back of one result."

Carlton Cole:

"I DIDN'T hear anything but in the dressing room a few of the players told me they had heard some racist chants.

"I was so focused on the game I didn't hear anything at all but if it's true, it is outrageous."

David James:

"THROWING flares is not the safest thing to do but it's something they do.

"The performance with 10 men was very good. This is a very hungry side. The players that come in or come on are desperate to do well."

Frank Lampard:

"NO ONE wants to see flares but what can you do? Once we saw that Greenie was all right, we got on with it."
