Boss Owen Coyle is ready to offer the ex-Manchester United midfielder a two-year deal and an immediate return to the Premier League.
Butt has kept his home in the North West and could be tempted to take the holding role at Burnley.
Newcastle are also ready to let £16million pair Fabricio Coloccini and Jonas Gutierrez go, despite now having one of the smallest squads in the Championship.

Burnley are not a "little" club .I admit that the town is small but its supporters are enthusiastic for their beloved club to shine again as a star in the firmament of great clubs in England .
They have defeated so called great clubs last year .They will follow the same trend this season as well .Just wait and see . Have some grains of patience

I agree with previous posting Nicky's legs went 2 years ago and he's no longer an asset as a player -at any level No runs -no passes forward- no goal attempts I would rather have a young up-and -comer with a bit more fire in his belly- there are plenty out there if our scouts would go looking Where are the next Gazza's Beardsley's Shearer's and Waddle's? The savings in wages could fund several decent replacements

He's a decent player, but he certainly won't be offered £65k a week at Burnley, in fact they wouldn't offer half that amount, so I doubt there's anything in this story.

agree with Tyson that Butt will be a great buy, well worth the 65k per week he is on at Newcastle. He has at
least another three to four years left and would give Burnley the premiership experience they need

maybe he can give Burnley the solid midfield power they need, would be a huge miss back at Newcastle despite other comments he is a great player with the pedigree to match

why would a player of nicky butt`s pedigree want to end his career at a dysfunctional club like newcastle? go for it mate.

Butt would be first on my list to ship out.
What would we miss exactly?
1) His blistering pace
2) His pin point passing
3) His well timed tackles on the edge of our area.
4) His Goals from midfield
5) His many assists
The only thing we would gladly miss is not having to pay him 60K a week and his ability to get 2 teams relegated.
