Faris.. thank you, i like your comment the most,the way i see it, Stevie Torres and even Kuyt has been able to move like that, thanks to those two being in the midfield... WE CAN NOT LOSE EITHER OF THEM, I DO NOT CARE WHO THEY BRING IN.. THE TEAM HAS TO KEEP PLAYING AND DRAW LESS AT HOME AND WE HAVE A CHANCE TO THE PL AND EVEN MORE.. NOW THAT THE PLAYERS HAVE A FULL UNDERSTANDING AND GLEN JOHNSON WAS A GOOD DEAL. GERARD AND TORRES CAME 3 AND 4 IN THE TOP SCORERS, WITH MISSING SOME GAMES AND SOME INJURIES TOO... THAT IS NOT MAGIC!!!

Pool bashers step aside, go elsewhere. IF we keep Masch and Alonso, and IF we get Silva, I think the pieces are in place. If we lose either of our CM we're done. All Pool "needs" is a pure right wing and a 2nd striker to back up Torres. United is wounded after their 2 huge losses. Chelsea have become graybeards overnight. Arsenal? Ha! Liverpool are THAT close if we keep our core and sell the extra hangers-on. To go: Dossena, Lucas, Babel, Arebeloa...at least we can get $ for them. Please Rafa....Silva and a good 2nd striker.

i think liverpool will only let mascherano leave if they got 15mil + toure. if barca cant afford than they dont need to offer. if they think yaya toure is better than mascherano why they bother offer masherano.
masherano = 15 mil + toure
x.alonse = negredo + heinze + 20mil
liverpool need to buy inler for 15mil, and silva for 25mil.
problem solve, everybody happy!
but i do think both alonso n masherano should stay unless they really dont want to play for liverpool anymore.

It will take at least a combined £85 million for Liverpool to consider selling both Alonso and Mascherano.£35 million for Xabi and £50 million for Masch.
Neither are willing to meet these asking prices so its likely both are staying put.The reason why the prices are so big,is liverpool don't want to sell.

Exchange Alonso and Arbeloa for Sneijder (better than Alonso) and Negredo (a great young CF) plus a little cash. Tell Barsa to stuff it. BTW Silva is not a replacement for Alonso, so getting somebody like Sneijder is a priority.

Villa: not moving to anywhere but spain, he's already said that, and i doubt he would choose liverpool over barclona anyway.

Silva: will be going to barcelona for 30 mill, you don't have a hope in hell

Toure: worth about 20 million by todays standards, thats why Arsenal were put off him, this means that by your reckoning, mascherano, who is admittedly a good player and a decent tackler, is worth 40 million......?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Alonso: very useful in any team, but 35 mill? more like £15 (maybe)...

and... if your hopeful thinking is right and you do buy villa, silva, inler and toure, this means you will have spent about 100 million (35 for villa, 30 for silva, 15 for inler, toure 20) and got something like £44 million back (25 for mascherano, 15 for alonso, 4 for lucas) thats a loss of 56 million....and with your debt, that ain't gonna happen.

don't get your hopes up, and then maybe you'll also realise that you don't have a hope next year

i've been to Anfield so I know all about how Liverpool play football. we need masch and alonso and stevie g and we need to add class to them not give it away to barcelona or madrid!

we need world class ball players to join the rafa-lution - starting with silva and villa. Come on yanks - put your hands in your pockets or face losing players and supporters!

As Barca fan, I can assure you that this is very unlikely to happen. We would only have 35 millions (euro, that is) to spend apparently, so with the DM position not being a priority (Toure and Busquets), you cannot see us spend 30 on Mascherano while we have other priorites, not the least signing another striker.

I just think that Mascherano is using our supposed interest to get a serious pay rise.

You should more worry about Madrid, who have Xabi Alonso on top of their list to play alongside Lassana Diarra in midfield. And if you're on top of a Madrid list these days...

michael owen went to madrid for top honours and liverpool won the european cup the same season now hes gone to united for top honours we will win the league title would he be gutted if that were to happen i think so hes a good omen for us they want to spend some of that ronaldo cash or they wont finish in the top 6 let alone top 4 raffa will ad david sillva in the next 2 weeks then that will be his money spent and the title in the bag

I think the only way we loose Masch Or Alonso is if Barca offer Toure + 20 Mill pounds atleast. ONLY if Silva agrees to join and Valencia agrees under 20 or 20.
As for Alonso the only way he goes if Real Back off from Villa and he agrees to join the Red's, So the price tag... 35 ? and hopefully Villa comes in from that money.
These deals should only happen if we're certain either Silva or Villa come, if they dont i think we find a replacement for Lucas (possibly Inler) sell Lucas and give Voronin another chance (He gave Alonso one and he delivered). This is our year !!. YNWA !!
Hopefully they'll both stay !!.

The worst part of it is that Barca re stingy they want 2 buy a whole masch for £25m, why wouldn't they give us Messi or Iniesta or better still give us Yaya with that amount. They even want to throw away Eto'o for that amount not to talk about a fresh blood Mascharano. Marcharano worths any amount Messi worth.

as Barca fan while I like mascerano a lot, we have resigned Toure yaya and above everything we want Villa I think. And Eto at end of season looked like he was saying farewell. Maybe Guardiola is just making RM´s signing of Alonso more difficult? If so, well done to him and if not and we get Masherano, good move too..

Personally I'd say 50M not a penny less, Masch is only really needed in games against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd. As for Alonso we gotta keep him

We can't lose either Mascherano or Alonso, they are the central hub of the team and the reason that Gerrard has been able to go so far forward and bag as many goals as he has recently.
