But the Lancashire all-rounder (below) is struggling after knee surgery and star batsman Kevin Pietersen is nursing an Achilles problem - and Waugh reckons England are ripe for the taking.
He said: "England don't have a bad squad but they really need Flintoff firing if they are to have a winning chance against the Aussies.
"England have done well in their recent two Tests but I don't think the West Indies could beat a club side. Their batting and attitude were dreadful.
"We just beat South Africa and I don't think England would have done that. Our pace attack is very good and we might not have the Warnes or McGraths but we're still a solid squad."
