Darren Ferguson lined up for Rangers hotseat
DARREN FERGUSON - wanted
PETERBOROUGH boss Darren Ferguson is top of QPR's wanted list to replace Iain Dowie.
Rangers co-owner Flavio Briatore wants a young ambitious coach and Sir Alex Ferguson's son (below) fits the bill.
But Posh will demand around £1million in compensation for their manager.
Renault F1 chief Briatore is determined to manage the club himself and let the new boy coach the players.
And that is why the job will scare off ex-England chief Terry Venables and former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini.
Peterborough director of football Barry Fry is not surprised Ferguson has been targeted.
He said: "He's a quality manager who has been determined to do things without any help from his father.

"QPR had an eye on him last summer but if they come in, the compensation will have to be right because Darren has three years left on his contract."
Dowie was sacked for the fourth time on Friday after clashing with Briatore over the co-owner's team selection for last night's game at Reading.
A club insider said: "Flavio changed Iain's team for Reading which resulted in the manager leaving.
"Dowie felt undermined and his patience snapped. No manager can work under those conditions and he had no choice but to walk."

Please Mr Briatore bring in Terry Venables.O.K. at the moment it is very,very unlikely he will if he is unable to select the team if these rumours about Mr Briatore are true.Would not it be better for Mr Briatore to bring in a High Profile Manager/Coach with experience both in this country and abroad plus being England Manager and a former manager of Q.P.R. who is still thought of highly by alot of Q.P.R. Fans. Mr Briatore could if he so wishes see and learn from Terry Venables. Mr Briatore is a Great Man in the field of F1. We Q.P.R. know that without his injection of Money along with Mr Bernie Ecclestone and Mr Lakshmi Mittal we would probably be in a lower division by now.We our and always will be truly indebited to all three (3) of them. Bringing in Darren Ferguson will probably mean a change of manager again before or at the end of this season.If the Owners are looking for Premiership Football then surely we need to get a Top Quality Manager/Coach in Now.Terry Venables must be considered.
