The Spaniard, still less than a year into the job, will be axed if he hasn’t lifted the bottom-of-the-table side clear of trouble by November 15.
That’s the secret deadline the Tottenham board have put on Ramos’s reign at White Hart Lane. Spurs are languishing at the foot of the Premier League with just two points after a disastrous start to the new campaign.
And a senior Spurs source said: “It’s make or break time now for Ramos. If things haven’t improved dramatically by mid- November then it’s ‘adios’ for sure.
“The club just can’t afford to let this crisis go on much longer, certainly not into Christmas. There’s simply no way the powers-that-be are going to put the club’s Premier League status in jeopardy. Being in the top flight is far too lucrative, especially in these harsh financial times.
“But they want to be fair. He’s got a bunch of new players who need to gel, so he’s got half a dozen games to sort it out.”
Next week Tottenham travel to bottom-but-one Stoke still searching for their first league win of the season.
Victory over the Premier League new boys would finally lift them off the bottom and bring a much-needed boost. It would also set them up perfectly for the visit of lowly Bolton, who are next up at the Lane.
That game could give Ramos a chance to post back-to-back wins — but then come two of the toughest games of the season — away to arch-rivals Arsenal and then home to Liverpool.
After that, come tricky away games at Manchester City and Fulham.
Tottenham also have UEFA Cup ties with Udinese and Dinamo Zagreb, and a Carling Cup clash with Liverpool in the next five weeks but it is their League form that will determine whether Ramos is sacked.
Spurs chiefs are demanding a double-digit points haul from those next six games. And Ramos is not the only one in danger — controversial sporting director Damien Comolli could go too.
The Tottenham hierarchy will reluctantly admit their two-tier management system, which has already cost them popular boss Martin Jol, has been a flop.
You have what you earn by Judas Ramos to sign what is a Judas. He gave his word to the president of Sevilla and his fondness that was not going to go and look at the day 8 was only for money but that is what he likes to clown. He deserved it since the triumphs of Seville were not theirs were the template and if it does not look as if we continued playing this evil born. As you can be forever and the ireis to the second division which is what dominates this.

up the gunners....... who cares about spurs?

Spurs are a small club so I don't know what their fans expect. They have only got in the top six twice during the premiership years after all.

It's not really Ramos' fault and it's not even Commoli's fault anymore (he had nothing to do with the summer dealings). He's merely Levy's puppet. Ramos worked under one of the shrewdest guys (Monchi) in World football at Sevilla, and had a huge scouting network at his disposal. Now he's working under a bunch of clowns who's idea of a bargain is to blow 5m on an untried Bundesliga midfielder, (Boateng) who could have been purchased for half that). Otherwise they just throw money at the kind of hyped-up players that everyone knows about but nobody else wants to pay way over the odds for. The likes of Pav, Modric, Giovanni etc are not what you want for a relegation battle. It's a very real possibility now. Ramos isn't that great, and would never have left Sevilla if not for the ridiculous contract offered. He's out of his depth. He was a flop at Espanyol before a great two years in Seville, and this job is starting to look like it's beyond him.

as a fan i can't help wonder when or where we are going our next goal from. were in the **** !

Am no Spurs fan, but Ramos can only do so much,
its down to the Eleven on the pitch, and the people
who sell their best players.

I understand that players need to gel, and that tactics come with training and work however I do find Ramos' selections and formation puzzling. At home, to Hull we played one up front- Pav. who isn't the fastest or the best at holding the ball up. We set about that game as if we were the away side and were playing for a draw. Give Bent a chance, he is quick, has a powerful shot and his touch and confidence will come back. Hopefully pav.'s injury will give him a chance rather than turn to someone else. If we are playing two up fron why not use Bent and Campbell, or Dos Santos (in the hole behind Bent).
Also lets stop playing players out of position, Modric needs to be further up the pitch creatingthings not picking the ball up off the centre backs, Bentley needs to be on the right and needs to get his form and confidence back. By all means use Bale on the left but put someone in the middle that will let Modric go forward, use Hudd, Zokora, even O'hara(great player). Jenas has reverted to his poor form and headles chicken approach to the game, how he was made captain is astonishing.

i believe the board are entirly to blame for the crisis goin on at the lane at the minute. get shot of comolli keep ramos it may be his pth club in 13 yrs but look wot he did 4 seville and then theres another team he managed ( cant remember who ) that he took from spanish div 1 top top4 of primera when he left they went straight back down. 2 strikers is not enough bent cant play on his own or with the pav and cambell just doesnt have the experiance we need. they should have never sold defoe or robbie keane. i believe ramos can sort the crisis out with the right mentality from the players the backroom staff and THE FANS. 2 new strikers in jan window is what we need.

keep ramos get rid of comolli is not fit to buy sunday team players
By ian. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 10:17 AM.
Yeah sack Comolli - after all did he not have 7 successful season's at The Arsenal, is that the reason people want him sacked. It cant be down to the players he has brought in......haven't they sold on a few of these for more money!
Michael Hodgson - I really wouldn't worry about One Day Ramos, he doesn't stay at clubs for too long anyway its a well known fact his record speaks for itself - aren't the Spuds his 9th club in 13 years?
Tottenham's downfall starts at board level......they are clueless.
I cant wait for St Totteringham Day this season - I somehow think it may come earlier than usual!

I blame the entire board. Whenever the team fail they always see fit to get rid of managers when in theory they should hand in their resignation. Martin Jol was best thing that ever happened to Spurs and look what happened to him. I sincerely hope Ramos does not have the same fate and turns this once massive club around.
By spurmeon. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 9:23 AM.
In my opinion Damien Comolli is the man that has caused this poor start to the season with his transfer dealings and should be sacked. This will send out a positive message to Spurs fans and show that the chairman has a pair of balls and acknowlegdes that Comolli is the wrong man for that job. I would find it totally unacceptable for Ramos to be sacked and for Comolli to keep his job. We should then stick with a chairman and a manager only. We should continue to back Ramos and the players that we now have. It would not be wise to sack Ramos as that would be another step backwards. The only thing I would like to see is for Ramos to be doing the post match interviews (even via an interpreter) from now on. It is important to get his immediate reaction to games, not leaving Poyet to do it. He needs to be in touch with the fans more.

I hope tottenham go down this year just for their treatment of martin jol, In fact most people i speak to hope tottenham go down this year they are and always have been the ebarasment of the london clubs
By tim frankham. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 8:35 AM.
get rid of Comolli and now. Let Ramos take full rein of the team with no interference. Should never have sack Jol, I bet that useless board is regretting it now.
By Carmina. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 4:46 AM.
All three should go, that's Levy, Comolli & Ramos. Anyone that has an idea that you can get rid of three strickers & bring in 10 players, knows nothing about football.
All top 4 only change 2 players at the most a season.
By Peter. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 2:04 AM.
bloody hell daniel levy, your being a bit hard on Ramos aint you.
We need Tottenham to do well in the Carling Cup, FA Cup, Uefa Cup and the Premierleague, just take it one step at a time.
Dont sack Ramos, we want him to be the next Sir Alex Ferguson of British football!
By michael hodgson. Posted oktober 12 2008 at 1:12 AM.
whereas i fully support the axeing of damien comolli, i don't think juande ramos should be axed as well, definitely not at this time of the season.let's give ramos enough time and chance.i strongly believe he can turn things arround!
