EVERTON boss David Moyes is considering an audacious bid to reunite the Neville brothers.

Moyes has been monitoring the situation of elder brother Gary at Manchester United, where he is now down the pecking order for the right-back slot.

And he is set to ask Neville if he would like to join brother Phil at Goodison Park . . . and end his playing career in Liverpool!

It has been unthinkable that United club captain Neville would see out his playing days at anywhere but Old Trafford, where he made his debut in 1992.

Neville turns 34 in February and his contract expires at the end of the season. He has yet to be offered a new one. It is highly likely he would be offered a coaching role but Neville is not thought to be considering retirement. And that is why any advances from Moyes might interest Neville, who has seen his brother, 31, flourish as Everton skipper.

If Everton were prepared to offer him a two-year deal, it could seriously tempt a player who has become one of the biggest hate figures at nearby Anfield.

Neville has taken his demotion at United on the chin, saying: "I've not been able to stay fit enough for long enough, or produce consistently good enough performances to stay in the team.

"Hopefully I can stay clear of injuries and get back to a consistent level that's required by me and the club."

Now this is one of only a very few clubs that Gary may well go to if he wants to continue playing football at the top level. However, he has made it very clear on many occasions that he wanted his next role in football to include some form of coaching. It was rumoured than he could join up with the reserves as part of the coaching staff. Time will tell though.

I'd rather unite the Chuckle Brothers at Goodison than the Nevilles.
