MICAH RICHARDS - no licence

MARK HUGHES has had enough off-the-field worries without Micah Richards buying a 150mph motorbike.

The Manchester City defender has splashed out nearly six grand on the Harley Davidson which he does not even have a licence to ride.

And Richards' contract forbids him riding a motorbike while he is employed as a professional footballer, anyway.

But his £5,500 outlay was in a good cause.

He bought the bike at Shaun Wright-Phillips' charity function.

WOOD YOU BELIEVE IT?

ARSENAL are keeping the local north London carpentry trade in business.

A chippy had to be called this week to repair the large hole booted in the away dressing room door by Dynamo Kiev's Olexander Aliyev following his red card on Tuesday night.

UEFA have been informed and the bill for the damage is winging its way to the Ukraine.

HUCKERBY KEEPS LOW PROFILE

DARREN HUCKERBY was the biggest Brit hit in the States with his performances for San Jose Earthquakes putting David Beckham in the shade.

ADIDAS STIR UP RONALDO

JUST when Fergie thought it had gone all quiet on the Cristiano Ronaldo transfer front, along comes a German to stir things up.

The president of adidas, Herbert Hainer, reckons it would be wonderful if Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid before too long.

For the good of the United star's career, you understand, and nothing to do with adidas's biggest club nicking Nike's brightest star.

Perish the thought!

WOJ AN IDIOT!

SAFE to sway that Arsenal's young Polish goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, is not the sharpest pencil in the box.

Nobody at the club can use the training ground gym unsupervised or without the correct footwear.

But Szczesny went in barefooted on his own only to slip and break both his arms just above the wrist.

PHIL THE PRESSURE

NOT to suggest Big Phil is getting paranoid about today's clash with Arsenal, of course.

But he does appear to be taking it even more seriously than even Jose Mourinho did.

Why else would the Chelsea boss ban Frank Lampard, Michael Ballack and Jose Cole from appearing in a harmless adidas photo shoot on Friday afternoon?

ELANO PAYS PENALTY

WANTAWAY Elano's nose was put even further out of joint after Danny Sturridge claimed penalty taking duties in the absence of Robinho.

The Brazilian protested bitterly but Mark Hughes sided with the teenager, surely hastening Elano's departure.
