MICAH RICHARDS hopes a world-class display against Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Manchester derby this afternoon will convince Fabio Capello to revive his England career.

The City defender has been largely ignored by the England boss in the last 12 months.

Richards, 20, has been affected by a combination of knee surgery and a dip in form and said: "It's been very hard this season because I've been playing left back, centre half, right back and in central midfield.

"If I was playing right back week in, week out, then there's no reason I couldn't make the position my own.

"I've been working hard to get back in the England squad and it's the performances in the big games like United which will get me noticed and back in.

"I'll be up against Wayne and Cristiano and I've got to be confident against them because they have the capability to destroy the opposition."
