The Portuguese superstar is the latest to sign up for A:3K Football, a £10million gladiator-style test of skill at the 02 Arena on July 17.
Less than a week after the World Cup Final, Ronaldo will battle it out with Steven Gerrard, Didier Drogba, Cesc Fabregas and David Villa in a series of challenges.
They include A:3K Attack which sees the players locked in a perspex cage with six goals and two balls, trying to score as many times as possible.
The event is expected to be played in front of 15,000 fans at the O2 with ITV showing highlights.
David Beckham's former right-hand man, Terry Byrne, has helped organise the event and persuade the world's leading lights to compete.
He said: "We can officially confirm that Cristiano Ronaldo will be a competitor in this year's A:3K event.
"We have already confirmed that Drogba, Fabregas, Gerrard and Villa will also be competing on that one night at the O2.
"One more football superstar will complete the line-up - we expect to be able to confirm that name this week."

look at these moronic fan boys cant wait to watch some stupid sports garabge. That dont prove anything, Ronaldo thinks he can scrounge some attention through this pathetic tournament? he cant take Messi on in the real stage, so he wants to use this rubbish game to look better . Fool!

The event obviously needs Lionel Messi in it to have any credibility whatsoever.

Bilboy, I expect sponsors will be throwing money at the event too: Nike, Addidas, Coke, Pepsi, Gillett, etc, etc. A high profile event like that, they'd probably be fighting sponsors off with a stick!
Also, I reckon they would make a lot more £750k in tickets: It's not a football stadium, so think ring-side seats, executive tables etc. Plus TV rights for the whole of Europe, Asia, the Middle-East, South-America - all just after the World Cup when everyone is hungry for it.
I reckon they just might make enough money to swim in...

I Can't wait, already got my ticket!!!! .. Gerrard will win it .. unless the un-named player is rooney

Looks like a mouth-watering line-up, however I'd have loved to see Messi and Ronaldo go head to head, doubt Messi will be the 'final superstar' though. Rooney possibly?
Just a quick thought though, how on earth are they going to recoup the £10mil being spent on the players and setting up the event?! 15,000 tickets will only make back £750k max and tv deals won't exceed a couple of mill. Hmmm
