NO LOANS FOR YOUNG GUNS

Wenger is keeping his Carling Cup kids together

ARSENE WENGER is turning down DAILY requests for his young reserve stars - so he can keep his Carling Cup side together.

The Arsenal manager is fending off loan bids at the rate of one a day as both Championship AND Premier League clubs look to profit from The Emirates youth scheme.

Wenger is actually keen for his emerging talent to gain regular first-team experience but he also believes that his development squad have a serious chance of WINNING the Carling Cup.

Mexican

I understand Phil Brown has been told he has a good chance of being given Mexican striker Carlos Vela on loan - but only after Arsenal's Carling Cup run ends.

The 19-year-old Mexican has scored four times in that tournament but has found his Premier League opportunities severely limited.

And Wenger would be happy for him to go to somewhere such as Hull, where he would get a starting slot and would be toughened up to the rigours of the Premier League. Wenger has never been reluctant to loan his fringe stars and has often had as many as half a dozen out at one time.

But it seems he so genuinely excited at the Carling Cup performances of his second team that he wants to keep them together as a unit.

Real

Meanwhile, stuttering Real Betis have approached Wenger about taking midfielder Alex Song to La Liga.

The 21-year-old has still to force his way into the first team after three years at The Emirates.

He wants regular football and Wenger could allow the Cameroon ace to move to Spain to help Betis, who fear getting dragged into a relegation scrap.

Dazzling

Arsenal want a more established holding midfielder when the transfer window opens in January and that will further block Song's path to the first team.

The Cameroon international has been a regular in the dazzling Carling Cup side but has not progressed fully, either in his usual position or at centre-half.

Betis would want to make the deal permanent in the summer but Wenger still believes Song has a future at the club.

Since all AW wants is experimenting, he should use his young guns that won againt wigan in the league and let see what they are realy made up of.....The first team is weak and fab is not playing with his mind for arsenal again : i.e againt villa he played with no zeal. The like of gallas, kolo, ebuoe, sivester and diaby should be sold in the nxt transfer window, vela, bentner, song and denilson should be loaned out for long and may be AW in addition should go too he has, and he his putting so many Arsenal fans to shame......

Well we all have qualms with the results recently not so much last year as the season was exciting this year its below par for our team Ive stood on the north bank for 20 years before moving state side and we have had for worse than this To be honest its the newer fans expect too much Wenger will put it right even if its not this season the focus should remain on the champions league and qualifying again for next year the youngsters will win the league cup and if its been good enough for chelsea and their millionaire stars it will do us for this year with the possibility of reaching the CL final

Gooner for life and Wenger knows and all that... but even my old man who's an old North Bank regular says Wenger's stubborn and short-sighted. Wenger won't admit he only has one plan and seems to stick with it to the point where we will loose our CL spot if not this season then the next. Fab and the rest will leave fast and we'll be mid-table fodder with a flash stadium. They said we'd go the way of Ajax after they got their new stadium and at the moment it's showing that way. We have zero consistency and will def be potless again this season.

i am disgusted with some of the things that have been said in the media lately about wenger needs to go but players can be replaced ofcourse. people like song and bendtner need to go sorry an thank you for the support you gave good luck with your career but they are just not arsenal standards. most people are right we wont win anything with just 4 defenders and the rest of the time attackers, the spine of the midfield needs to be reinforced to help fabregas play more central/attacking midfield and the way denilson plays and fab at the same time cant work together even if balanced. this will cause an extremely season lackness from fabregas with him not pushin up further to attack. as for wenger i know he is angry as much as us fans but why he let flamini go anyways man. he didnt want to go other than a pay rise and a contract we definetley aint winning the premiership 50/50 with champs leag, will win carling cup nt sure bout fa

I think Arsenal could need a brand new defence and a new GK

By Dilla . Posted November 16 2008 at 3:55 PM.

leo- Gallas would not accept a fullback role, and theres no way walcott could play in a 3 accross the middle. He is an all out winger and hugs the line.
Thomas paul-denilson is quality. Bet you thought flamini was not Arsenal quality either, then all of a sudden he was great and now apparently we are not the same without him.
Robert- after Adams left wenger brought in Campbell and we had the best defence in the league- your talking nonsense.
Marcus-your a fool- yourself.

Arsenal need to play liverpool formation. 442, 4-5-1 wont win us anything, we concede too many!

we need a 4-2-3-1 formation to defend well and control the midfield. denilson and song or denilson and diaby in the middle would plug our defensive frailties!

...................almunia.....................

gallas.......toure......silvestre......clichy

...........denilson.......song.................

walcott...........cesc...............nasri.....

................ade, bend, van................

up front, ade / bendtner only, van persie can swap places with nasri!

song / denilson can swap with diaby

eboue can come in for gallas and toure can play CB with either gallas or silvestre.

the problem wit Arsene is dt he doesnt knw when a guy is just not Arsenal material anymore. You look at the likes of Jeremiere Aliadiere, Jermaine Pennant etc These guys r good bt they r just not Arsenal material. Now we have Alex Song, Nicholas Bentner, Emanuel Eboue, Denilson etc. Now these guys are just not Arsenal material at all. They will never make it there. He needs to sell them off. And his squad is just too small to compete on all 4 grounds. League Cup, FA Cup, Champions League, BPL.

By Thomas Paul. Posted November 16 2008 at 1:26 PM.

I think if anyone should be shipped out . its Bentdner ! - The guy is clearly not a Premier League player , he only played well when on loan to Birmingham in the Championship , with a bit of luck we could maybe sell him and get a couple of quid for him too !

another team come and we cant break down 10 men defences time to let the kids have ago stop playing pretty 20 and 30 passes and get the ball in the box quicker and please please find some defenders gallas is looking his age

By dave. Posted November 16 2008 at 12:22 PM.

please wenger teach ur players how to shoot from distance not to wait till their dribble keeper is killing us.

Players like Vela ,Wilshire, and Ramsey should be given immediate chance with the first team and even players like Gibbs. Whenever A.W loaned his players, most of them never returned to play for the club and were sold at a fairly low price.
SONG should be allowed to go imediately before they change their minds. He is definately not the class of Arsenal first team. He is short for a central player . He is also lazy, slow and his work rate whilst playing is very low.He shows no commitment at all.

Wenger, has lost da plot, no holding player in da middle & u believe u can win any trophy this season? U r fooling ur self & ur employers. Resign Wenger, u will never equal Sir Alex.

By Busagwa. Posted November 16 2008 at 10:06 AM.

We will win nothing again. Surely its time for Arsene Wenger to put Vela, Wiltshire etc., in the first team and drop Bentner, Van Persie and co., and lets have a go with interested players.

By Geoge Reid. Posted November 16 2008 at 9:30 AM.

Loan out Vela your joking he shold be a starter ahead of everyone

By keith. Posted November 16 2008 at 8:16 AM.

Sadly Arsenal play like both French Rugby and Football teams "HOTAND COLD".Also both centre backs cannot cope with pacy forwards or ball in the air. This problem has never been addressed by Wenger since Tony Adams left.

By Robert. Posted November 16 2008 at 5:13 AM.

I think the time for experiment is over for AW. He shd win ugly to get points no use playing pretty soccer and and looking for a way thru massed defence. Go ndirect man, If not Arsenal are down and out.

By malcolm. Posted November 16 2008 at 4:33 AM.

Sorry to rain on your parade Wenger but you are only fooling yourself if you think any of your spineless gutless teams will win anything this season
