WENGER SAYS THE BETTER TEAM LOST

WENGER: On the touchline with Ancelotti
WENGER: On the touchline with Ancelotti

ARSENAL boss Arsene Wenger admits he finds the 2-0 loss at Chelsea hard to take.

The Gunners chief has incredible belief in his charges but, after a convincing home defeat to Manchester United last weekend, Chelsea further questioned their London rivals' title pretensions with yet another Didier Drogba-inspired victory.

The Ivorian struck twice in the first half and was only denied a late third by the bar as the Premier League leaders completed the double over the team from Emirates Stadium.

Yet Wenger felt Chelsea did not deserve the three points at Stamford Bridge.

"It is difficult to swallow a defeat like that when we felt we were the better team," he protested.

"Chelsea defended well until the last minute so you have got to give them credit. We are outsiders but we will fight until the last day of the season.

"I believe everyone can drop points.

"Let's come back to win our next game first and then see where we stand."

That fixture is Liverpool at home on Wednesday and it's more likely Arsenal will face a battle for third place if they lose to the Merseysiders.

Wenger showed his understandable frustration by becoming embroiled in an argument on the touchline with one of the most mild-mannered people in football in Blues assistant Ray Wilkins.

Carlo Ancelotti felt his side were in control throughout the capital derby.

"We tried to score more but we worked together for 90 minutes," he said. "Sometimes you have to defend.

"We were winning 2-0 and it was important to defend. The defenders, midfielders and strikers did a fantastic job.

"Petr Cech was in control for 90 minutes. Arsenal produced some fantastic attacking play so it was not easy. Maybe they had more possession than us but this is not football.

"Football is attack, defence and results also.

"We deserved to win."

Wenger is over dependant on Fabrigas who is not a striker for result most of the time. Arsenal needs a sriker with gut and a REAL GOAL poacher to compliment Fabrigas who is already over burdened.

Wenger will never win with kids. Go for chamakh and villa and possibly a good shot stopper and a sharp shooter midfielder.

If the money is present we need to add one or 2 players
we need to buy experience players if we really want to win silverware.

Arsene Wenger is not admitting that the Arsenal team lacking a potent goal poacher the likes of Wayne Rooney, Didier Dorgba, RuudVan Nistelrooy or even the on form Jemaine Dafoe. He has failed to capitalized during the January transfer window to beef up the squad's strike force. None of the players are consistent goal scorers - looks like Arsene should be ready to face the star play exit at the end of the season with another trophy drought!!
It's time the board replace Arsene who has failed to deliver again and again.

Mr Wenger has lost the plot .Arsenal never lose in his eyes Chelsea played them off the park at times yesterday and he still cannot see or admit that....The Gunners needed a top striker and he bought nothing but dreams.....gunners will win nothing again this year

Tevez would fit perfectly at Arsenal - so would Luis Fabiano.

It's basically a strong, commited striker we need, and nothing else.

Wenger is still a brilliant manager, and I am pretty sure without him, with this squad, Arsenal would be way below in the table.

But it's hight time he brought this inspirational forward to the ranks.

Oh, and a top keeper would do too.

Wenger is so naive about his team's performance and always claimed they deserved to win because they were the BETTER team on the pitch. I think it's time for him to admitted that his players either NOT good or experience enough to win games when they matters.

Mr Wenger needs to change his transfer policy and start to buy bigger players with a bigger presences in the box, we get to the penalty area and have no one there with a bit of muscle to force the ball home.
someone needs to tell them that they can have a shot at goal from outside the box and then let the migets follow up on the rebounds.

they should spend Monday and Tuesday watching Man U vidoes on how to fight for your team to win big games

By getting to the end of the line die hard Arsenal fan.. Posted February 7 2010 at 8:08 PM.
