Central defender Forren, 20, has also attracted interest from Wigan, Newcastle United and Sampdoria.
He signed a five-year contract at Molde last year but is now seeking talks about his future at the club as interest in him grows.
And Mowbray is planning a busy month when the transfer window re-opens in January.
He has already made a personal check on Manchester United's Angolan international striker Manucho.
Albion also have a long-standing interest in Real Mallorca's Oscar Trejo and have had Peterborough forward Craig Mackail-Smith watched.

Please don't buy him, he's so good for my team Molde FK.
But if you do, treat him well! He is a fantastic person!

I think he would be a great asset to any premier league club. Arsenal bought Nordtveit at a reletively young age, and he is developing to be a good defender, aswell is Forren even though he haven't been picked up by a big club earlier in a younger age.
I am certain that Forren/Nordtveit is the new defenders in tomorrows Norway squad.
Forren is absolutely not a top-PL player at the moment, he has a lack of pace and is not focused through 90 minutes. Put for him to move to a bigger club now might be the right thing.
He will train with players holding a much higher level and pace, and will probably play mostly for the B'squad in the start, but even they have quite a good pace in their play.
It would mean a great deal for Molde aswell to sell a player for quite a lot of cash so they can bring in some new faces to lift the club where it belongs. :)
In my opinion i hope he rather goes to Wigan than WB since they are more likely to keep their place in the PL.

Actually, Vegard Forren is an extremely talented player. Norway has not seen a defender with "extra skills" like this...maybe ever. We in Molde should know..we came up with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and have exported many a player to the big leagues.
I can offer you this as someone with first hand knowledge of Forren:
Strenghts:
-Very good in air (despite his relatively young age)
-Has a world class left foot for sending those delicate 60 metres diagonal passes to the wing (just above the heads of the opponents backs...time after time..allmost NEVER misses..it`s "sick")
-Has a very good "footballing brain", and uses his vision to break opponents attacks time and time again by reading the game like a very experienced player, despite his young age.
-Likes to advance with the ball from own half to opponents half (actually used to be a left winger, and is comfortable with the ball)
-Has a very good mentality, and never gives up (and not a primadonna..also kind of like Solskjaer here)
-+++
Weaknesses:
-He says he could have been a little quicker, but has actually shown he can catch up with fast attackers..(don`t know who to believe)
-Don`t know any more weaknesses...
