BIRMINGHAM MAKE BLANC CHECK

BLANC: Highly regarded young coach
BLANC: Highly regarded young coach

BIRMINGHAM owner Carson Yeung could bring Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc to St Andrew's.

Yeung is ready to commit £40million on transfers but is not convinced current boss Alex McLeish is the right man to spend it.

Credible draws against Manchester City and Liverpool have helped the Scottish manager's cause but uncertainty in the boardroom still hangs over McLeish.

Blues also picked up three points on Saturday with a 1-0 win against Fulham.

But the new supremo has his own thoughts on the situation and would be tempted if a coach of Blanc's standing came on the market.

The Frenchman is doing a marvellous job at Bordeaux and the French champions are already assured of their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

McLeish has got blues playing well and compeating against top premier league teams. It would be stupid to bring a cheating frog into the permier league. With out giving McLeish a full permier league season
