WENGER: Accepts change will happen

ARSENE WENGER believes internationals will soon be played on Friday and Tuesday nights to give club sides more time to prepare for their games.

A FIFA resolution in September gave federations the choice of bringing games forward from Saturday and Wednesdays.

And with clubs complaining their stars are often returned late and injured, Arsenal boss Wenger has urged countries to switch.

Wenger lost Holland hitman Robin van Persie and England Under-21 ace Kieran Gibbs during the recent internationals.

And he said: "The whole structure of the season is not right.

"In the next round of the European Championship qualifiers, teams can play on Friday and Tuesday. As soon as one team starts, everybody will."
