The 26-year-old Croatian forward is unhappy that he has still to be offered improved terms at the Emirates.
His contract has just over 18 months to run and that has alerted Rafa Benitez, who desperately needs to strengthen his attacking options.
The recurring absence of first-choice Fernando Torres has convinced Benitez that he needs more firepower and he hopes to convince the Liverpool board to finance the deal with the club in a fraught battle for fourth place.
Liverpool cannot contemplate missing out on next season's Champions League and Benitez hopes that will release the purse strings.
Eduardo has started just three Premier League games this season despite fully recovering from the horror injury he picked up against Birmingham at the start of 2008.
The Brazilian-born forward was out for a year following the challenge from City's Martin Taylor that broke his ankle and his fibula.
But he has been back since February and wants a more prominent role at Arsenal that Arsene Wenger cannot currently give him.
Eduardo will seek talks with Wenger to see if he features in his long-term plans and if the Arsenal boss is not convincing, Liverpool are ready to pounce.

Well, just like what the Arsenal manager pointed out that many would wish to buy Burkingham Palace, only that it's not, and perhaps has never been up for SALE, it's nolonger what many used to think that Arsenal is their to groom players for sale, Dudu, is more of an assert than a liability, 'Looserpool' take note

It will b sad to see him leave...he must be samrt bcz look at babel ngog crouch n many more they dint shine at pool...its like if u r not a S,G or TORRES u dnt hav a regular and thats wat he wnt bt he wont get it there..
By zac.. Posted November 17 2009 at 5:10 PM.
Strange thing football is. Before Babel signed for Pool, I was praying and wishing he came to Arsenal. His style was the kind that would flourish at Arsenal. He would probably be banging goals for fun right now. Instead he snubbed us and went to Pool and now he is facing the EXIT. I don't think I want to see him at Arsenal anymore too.
By Tobias.. Posted November 17 2009 at 1:20 PM.
i am reading the comment being posted but let us look at this 1. eduardo owes a lot to arsenal for standing by him when he was injuried 2.if RVP didnt get injuried and bentner was not injuried do you think he would get first team games i dont think so.3 rafa should have said nothing about his plans to buy 4. arsenal would pay about 100 million for TORRES because if he can score in the pool team what would he get at arsenal but as we say united would not buy him two years before the pool did because ferg didnt think he was good enough but paid 30 million for BER 5.if TORRES AND EDUARDO in the same team suppied by S.G we might have chance of finishing in top four this year.
By allan.. Posted November 17 2009 at 9:17 AM.
Eduardo would be a class signing. Lads can you not see he is the next Robbie Fowler.... has the predator instinct, fantastic left foot and scores goals for fun when he gets a chance. Watch his movement too, so similar to folwer.. great combo with him and torresSign him quick for 10m well worth it considering the amount we spent on Babel, Keane, Voronin(Wages) and no return.
By robert brennan.. Posted November 16 2009 at 8:37 PM.
XD XD Eduardo will never leave arsenal....liverpool, man utd, chelsea and man city are clubs where money rules... in arsenal rules honesty and team building...and that will bring us trophy...and you know what!!! EDUARDO HAVE DIGNITY AND EVEN IF HE WANT TO LEAVE ARSENAL, HE WILL NOT LEAVE IT FOR POOR 10M THAT PITFULL LOSERPOOL IS OFFERING... so long suckers, and you can dream about eduardo, he will be arsenal legend!!!!
By Josip.. Posted November 16 2009 at 6:23 PM.
Eduardo has just palyed himself back after long term injury and is ripe to take over from RVP while he is out.
There is no attraction in going to Giro-pool. Crap team, manager lost the plot, about to go bankrupt and no Euro football after the next couple of weeks.
Eddy will be a world star at Arsenal.
By barndoor bendtner.. Posted November 16 2009 at 10:52 AM.
sorry, rafa we need a nice more than torres.no to eduardo.
By charlie.. Posted November 16 2009 at 7:34 AM.
Eduardo will be a quality addition to the floundering anfield team. At last, torres will have a quality striking partnership with the outstanding gerrad just behind them to supply killer passes and snatch up the scraps. The reds will then be able to release babel and the misfiring pony tailed voronin. With the acquidition of eduardo, i think we should still be able to claim fourth place though it will still be a tight finish with the likes of inform aston villa, man city and spurs all lurking in the wings.
By theophille.. Posted November 16 2009 at 6:42 AM.
Eduardo leave Arsenal?? NO WAY!! And if Liverpool think they can lure him there for a meager £10mil they are seriously mistaken. Liverpool WISH they could get Eduardo, let alone for 10mil. Nicky B and V.P. are both out for over a month, so hel get plenty of starts. More than enough for him to show hes worth more than 10mil and worthy of a better team than Liverpool. Show 'em what your made of Eduardo!!!
By Ant-Enfiled Gooner.. Posted November 16 2009 at 2:48 AM.
All the cockney rent boys going banana's as usual. Eduardo would bite rafa's hand off if he got offered the chance. Problem is, is he good enough to play for Liverpool and strong enough. those Arsenal Boys are too weak usually. ha
By Nick lfc.. Posted November 16 2009 at 1:00 AM.
Rafa doesn't need a diver. He is a straight manager who plays the game fair. This idiot would bring Liverpool some bad noteriety they don't need.
By Joe.. Posted November 16 2009 at 12:50 AM.
well..i don't think that eduardo is worth 45 mil..no way..but around 20--25..YES..i mean he's a fox in the box..a predator..in the euro qual. he had a impressive goal scoring rate of 100%...10 shots 10 goals..than came the injury..just wait until hes ready(mentally)..and u will see what hes capable of!!!!..and it doesn't matter if he scored the goales in carling cup or in the premiership..HE SCORES..unlike voronin..or babel!!!!
By igor_croatia.. Posted November 15 2009 at 11:13 PM.
Eduardo? Why him? 10million is too expensive. I would rather see Pavlyuchenko on loan until we find a deadly striker who can score goals for us. We need goal scorers apart from Torres & Gerrard. I think it would be a wrong choice Eduardo like.
By Max Johnson.. Posted November 15 2009 at 9:42 PM.
no way will eduardo will go to liverpool
rafa would waste him like he did with babel
if you think it about it its just paper talk liverpool can't afford
10milli much less 10 grand. liverpool is a broken team on the pitch and also financially as this season will prove
By Roger kyle .. Posted November 15 2009 at 8:59 PM.
John Matrix........Liverpool got no pull????....HOW MANY CHAMPIONS CUPS HAVE YOU WON?? and WHO IS THE MOST SUCCESFUL TEAM IN ENGLAND???........Now when I snap my finger....YOU will WAKE UP!!!!!!

By YNWA.. Posted November 15 2009 at 8:10 PM.
Liverpool cant afford anyone quality like that and next year will be lucky if they even get in the europa league. they will finish behind man utd, chelsea, arsenal, tottenham, man city, villa and possibly sunderland. then they will be lucky to get anyone in!
By Mr Mouse.. Posted November 15 2009 at 6:59 PM.
arsenal to liverpool step down dream on,arsenal obviously have a far superior trophy cabinet ha ha.
By paul, leamington spa.. Posted November 15 2009 at 6:04 PM.
Eduardo won't go to Liverpool after saying he is happy playing for Arsenal and wants to score more goals, he hasn't played because he has been out with a injury to his thigh.
Arsenal to Liverpool is a step down, the man doesn't owe Arsenal anything but I know he wants to show his love to us for supporting him through the injury.
By Eduardo da Silva.. Posted November 15 2009 at 4:37 PM.
"so here is two words that could get him leaving so that he can play more FIRST TEAM football, those two words
WORLD CUP!" Paul
I've got three words for you that prove he doesn't need first team football.
DID NOT QUALIFY!!!

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF
By George James Reid.. Posted November 15 2009 at 4:06 PM.
LOl: Dream on, there's no way Eduardo will be leaving the Arsenal any time soon, and if he were to leave, I believe the starting price would more likely be £20m region.
By GunnerX.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:41 PM.
this is utter dross eduardo's going nowhere and liverpool coudnt afford him anyway
By Ademywhore.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:40 PM.
Courtney, you're the one who doesn't have a "scooby doo" mate. Rafa already has his replacement for "Alsono" (as you call him) - Alberto Aquilani.
By Pepe.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:34 PM.
I dont think Arsenal will sell Eduardo with RVP and Bendtner injured.. 10 mil. is an unacceptable figure...
By Gooner.. Posted November 15 2009 at 2:57 PM.
10 million for eduardo would be the best thing we could a good player to replace torres, when injured or strength as a change when needing a goal something what vorronin lacks, just thinking of replacing alonso all the time alonsos gone now we need cover everywhere .
By mick nowak.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:36 PM.
Another rafa fact...lol, dream on.
By jakesala.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:08 PM.
Rafa u aint got a scooby doo mate , buying a striker like eduardo isn't the answer for liverpool u need to replace alsono !!!.... liverpool haven't been the same since he went to madrid lucas isn't good enough !!!
By courtney.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:26 PM.
Wel eddie wil be a good deal 4 10 mil n rafa is so stupid he wants 2 get rid of babel his a sik plyer he should be plyin up stiker week in and out wtf
By Hassan.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:10 PM.
Eduardo, despite his theatrics in penalty areas aside, is an outstanding talent, so really doubt that £10 million is a figure Arsenal would accept and really doubt that he would swap bench at the Emirates to the bench at Anfield, besides, with Van Persie out after that injury yesterday to be ascertained and Bentner out, Eduardo is liekly to get a lot more 1st team action.
By Glen.. Posted November 15 2009 at 11:49 AM.
Paul: You mean the world cup that Croatia haven't qualified for? If that's the logic you're basing this transfer rumour's validity on then it's a safe bet Eduardo's staying put.
By Harry.. Posted November 15 2009 at 11:12 AM.
First team football, at Anfield? When Torres is fit, first team football like Crouch, Keane, et al? Scousers hey?
By William Davies.. Posted November 15 2009 at 10:41 AM.
woooooooow 20 million for can't control and 10 million for eduardo???? doesn't quite add up
By nelson.. Posted November 15 2009 at 10:51 AM.
So eduardo won't leave because he is humble, been nursed through a horror injury, like has been pointed out most goals playing in the baby team, so here is two words that could get him leaving so that he can play more FIRST TEAM football, those two words
WORLD CUP!
By Paul.. Posted November 15 2009 at 10:23 AM.
Eduardo, unlike many footballers, is actually a very nice humble guy. Therefore the chances of him leaving Arsenal after spending 18 months being nursed through one of the most horrific leg breaks going = ZERO. He has spoken many times of his gratitude and respect for both Wenger, the Arsenal medical staff and the fans. Besides, why on earth would he want to leave for Liverpool, where he'd have no more chance to start regularly and be playing in a team much less suited to his strengths. Not to mention with RVP and Bendy injured Wenger won't sell him anyway!
By Ellie.. Posted November 15 2009 at 9:16 AM.
It's a wonder Rafa didn't want to buy Eduardo as soon as his had that horrific leg injury. LONG LIVE RAFA
By Phil - Blue Nose.. Posted November 15 2009 at 9:09 AM.
Thanks for the "education" Tony. Here's an idea for you! To achieve a decent value in the market you have to seem a stable purchase. As good as Eduardo appears. He has not played more than 20/25 games in a season since being here, And the majority of his goals have been in the baby arsenal team in the carling cup. 10M may be a lil too low. But it you were to achieve 15m or so that would be a fair price for a player who has proved nothing at premiership level!
By dave.. Posted November 15 2009 at 8:26 AM.
Another diver to join the cheats and conmen already there. Makes sense. Carragher, Gerrard Ngog to mention just 3.
By pauledqpr.. Posted November 15 2009 at 8:25 AM.
What next? Roy Keane to step out of retirement and join Arsenal to provide cover for Song in January when he leaves for the African Cup of Nations?
By rosicknote.. Posted November 15 2009 at 8:10 AM.
robin injury is not as serious as through in da first tym, lol edo warm up in da bench 4ever.......
By Ramse.. Posted November 15 2009 at 7:29 AM.
Liverpool have neither the money or the pull to attract a player of Eduardo's quality. They'd be better off concentrating on players more to their level like Carlton Cole so they can consolidate their Europa Legue position.
By John Matrix.. Posted November 15 2009 at 7:21 AM.
Hahahaha...they have more chance of kicking the Queen in the head!
By Sue.. Posted November 15 2009 at 5:28 AM.
Eduardo moved to Arsenal for about £7-8m, plus some bonuses, I'm sure.
He performs well, becomes a folk hero... then gets a career threatening injury and, as he gradually makes his comeback, proves a great cover for van Persie up front, wide left for Arshavin or even wide right for Walcott/Bendtner.
Yet with 18 months left on his contract the first thing Arsenal will do is cave to a pathetic £10m bid from Liverpool?! Give me a break.
Liverpool are clever to want him but not so stupid as to offer so little.
But, regardless, he's an Arsenal legend in the making! Once he regains his goalscoring form he could easily win Arsenal the title or a cup or two. The guy oozes class!
Big up the Arsenal!!! And Eduardo to get back on the goalscoring trail!!!
By Steven.. Posted November 15 2009 at 4:20 AM.
Why r people such idiots? This clearly on non story. Agent is blatantly up 2 some tricks. Why get suckered into this story.
By Torres9.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:16 AM.
NO!! Eduardo can't lave the gunners! He is a poacher, scores goals when neeeded! He can't leave! Van Persie is injured now and it doesn't look good for the dutchman! This is the time for Eduardo to prove his worth to the team! Play the brazilian born croatian as a forward and he will provide goals!
By Alex.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:52 AM.
Ahh, another ignoramus in the form of Luke B - incapable of getting its point accross without abusing and insulting other posters.
What a lovely society we live in these days!
By Alex.. Posted November 15 2009 at 3:52 AM.
Eduardo to LFC ummmm number one i think 10 mil is a little to much. Antoher thing i don't tihnk arsenal would sell to a rival team, and now with van persie's injury he will be playing for first team football. Even tough i rather keep the money for Elia younger faster and better!
By Anthnoy.. Posted November 15 2009 at 2:25 AM.
dream on. eduardo is going nowhere and he would not step down a level by joining the scousers anyway.
By anon.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:55 AM.
criag and luke b im happy to educate you both on football matters since your clearly struggling now any player is worth what the buying club are prepared to pay and since the money in football is going up and up your not gonna under price your players unless your in financial hardship which arsenal are not if rodwell a kid with no champions league or international record is talked about as 20 million when he has only played a minimum games at everton then eduardo is worth twice as much just look at the value of average english players and what they go for and your telling me eduardo is worth 10-15 million dont make me laugh he is a world class talent that any club would want wenger would not sell him but if he did any football person will tell you he would cost no less than 25 million and thats because he had a serious injury crikey shaun wright phillips went for 21 million to chelsea and john terry was talked about as 40 million and he is a defender yet you think eduard is worth 10 dear me
By tony,kent.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:40 AM.
He has a good scoring record previously... if it is at a discount, he shld be better than voronin anytime isn't it?
By cheezeprawn.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:37 AM.
why this injury to Van Persie as an Arsenal fan something is working against us.But any way we have to soldier on.
By tooshort.. Posted November 15 2009 at 1:06 AM.
I agree with Luke B.Tony from Kent is talking out of his harris. If Wenger sold Eduardo it wouldnt be mid season when Bendtner and Van Persie are both injured and it wouldnt be for a loss at £10 m either.Rafa is trying to get top players at discount prices.I dont think Liverpoo can afford Villa and apparently West Ham have quoted silly money for Carlton Cole who is average.Liverpoo will add some average players in January and finish 5th at best. GGMU.
By Craig.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:57 AM.
ditto what Tony said.
By Joe.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:25 AM.
You cant question his form, he has hardly had a proper run of games. When he has played, he has done okay. We bought him for 7.5m, he has showed he can cut it in this league, any offers would be 15m+.
By ronny.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:27 AM.
Meh, just his agent trying to drum up business with his contract running out. Nothing to see here, move along.
By captain.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:38 AM.
With Van Persie's injury, he will be a starter.
By Bman.. Posted November 14 2009 at 11:31 PM.
Tony From Kent ..... Clearly you know NOTHING about football!!! 25million???? because of injury ..... and 45 if he wern't???? FOURTY FIVE MILLION OF THE QUEENS ENGLISH POUNDS??? ARE YOU MAD!!!! Liverpool only paid 26 for torres? and you think Eduardo would be worth 45 if he never broke his leg! ... Utter muppet you really are
By Luke B.. Posted November 15 2009 at 12:07 AM.
Eduardo has just return frm terrible injury which put him out of action for more than 1and half c'son. His form is not convincing, he shuld work hard to fight position or shift to Liverpool & enjoy sitting in the bench n later sold to barmingham or westham.
By Samir8.. Posted November 14 2009 at 11:21 PM.
eduardo will not be going anywhere any football person will tell you that and if he ever did it would be at a starting figure of 25 million pounds only for the fact he had a serious injury otherwise you would be looking at 45 million pounds starting price but its not gonna happen and any person in the know will tell you rafa benitez will be moveing for david villa to combine him with his partner for spain and liverpool star torres to tear teams in the prem apart next year my sources tell me it will happen in the summer
By tony,kent.. Posted November 14 2009 at 11:29 PM.
Ah how unlucky can ya get? Just when ya got a good '2+2=5' link, van persie gets injured so now eduardo has the front position all to himself. I feel bad for you i really do... ;)
