DERBY boss Nigel Clough remains confident Everton striker James Vaughan will re-join the club on loan in January despite interest from Bolton.

Bolton are lining-up a £3million bid for Vaughan who joined Derby on loan in September only for the deal to be scrapped when he suffered a knee injury that needed surgery.

Clough wants him back on loan in the New Year when he is fit and said: "I was not aware of Bolton's interest.

"But I think James is keen to come back here and we have a deal in principle with Everton, so hopefully everybody will stick to that.

"A cash move could possibly change things. It all depends on how Everton view his future as well."

Everton would be mad to sell this kid. If he stays fit he would get 20 league goals a season.
