The 17-year-old midfielder has already earned a place in Bayern's Champions League squad and is Austria's youngest-ever international.
After arriving at Bayern from Austria Vienna, the teenager wants to make his mark first in Munich before attempting to impress Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Following a man-of-the-match performance in September's win over Scotland Under-21s, it is likely Alaba has already crossed wily Wenger's radar and the Frenchman will be encouraged from what the youngster has had to say.
"As a child I dreamed of playing for Arsenal," he revealed in Der Standard.
"I admire their philosophy.
"There is a lot of work with youngsters and the way they play football is wonderful.
"But I feel very well at Bayern.
"I also want to play in a major tournament with Austria but I must improve in all areas."
There are very high hopes for Vienna-born Alaba in his homeland, where his father, who is African, and mother, who hails from the Philippines, have been living for the past 25 years.
