Blues line up £17m move for Sampdoria striker
CHELSEA have set their sights on a £17million move for Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini after being told they can buy players after all.
The Blues will be allowed to spend in January after the Court of Arbitration agreed to suspend their two-year transfer ban for an illegal approach to Gael Kakuta.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti is now ready to spend big in the New Year and will turn his attention to his ageing strikeforce.
Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka have been impressive this season but are on the wrong side of 30. So Ancelotti has been following 25-year-old hitman Pazzini, who has scored seven goals in 11 games this season.
Sources in Italy claim the Blues have already had one bid rejected but refuse to take no for an answer.
And before Chelsea's transfer ban was suspended last week, Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia: "We cannot say anything on this because we are waiting for a decision from FIFA.
"We have to wait before making any move.
"Pazzini is doing really well but if all the players I like were to come to Chelsea, we would have to enlarge the squad."
Chelsea are keen to complete the deal in January in case their transfer ban is reimposed during the summer.
Former Atalanta and Fiorentina star Pazzini has won three caps for Italy - and hit the headlines when he got sent off in a World Cup qualifier against Republic of Ireland earlier this year.

first chels have only been accused of an illegal act which has yet to be proved, to sanction 2 terms of transfer deals is wrong, if proven wrong then sentence announced, no where in law does it state that the accused is penalised before a judgement, evidence is required to be considered and studied with an open mind with all evidence laid out for all.
fifa have it in for chels any which way they can, ref against barca was the worst, but the decisions over the 3 years in champs league wernt ever in chels favour.
kun is over priced at th0se figures, un proven in the hardest league, if money is that important then chels should walk away.
makes me sick the money they demand considering myself being a season ticket holder , they have lost touch with the real world, real fans are suffering and sacrifice large money to follow their teams, but a lot give little back with liitle appreciation .

Lmao to the one comment saying we always get away with it, tbh no we don't if you think about it other teams have done things like us but they got away with it so why ain't you saying anythign like that, and plus pazzini would possibly be the best signing possible in the transfer window, aguero would be a good buy too but madrid would want a hell of a lot, i have always been a big fan of pazzini ever since he was at atlanta, he looked a formidable striker at there and ever since he has left there and gone 2 fiorentina & sampdoria he has become a much better striker.

dont be foolish, bout how do chelsea get away wiv it, we appealed! just like any club has the option to do DIMLO...pazzini would be a great a buy, bit like micheal owen in his prime, great finisher just wot we need, would work off drogba brilliantly.

what do you mean typical chelsea i find it absolutely absurd to give them a transfer ban until 2011 after all they have a aging squad and they need some fresh and young meat up front to boost are attack.

typical chelsea gettin away wiv the transfer ban, it shud stay suspended an i expect it would av if it was a club like burnley or wolves....its not the only thing they`ve got away wiv an i dout it will be the last, makes u wonder how they do get away wiv it.
