The midfielder approached the Hammers last week about a pay-off, after manager Gianfranco Zola ignored his claims for a recall.
Instead Quashie, forced to travel to Poland last week with the reserves, was told he no longer has to report for training.
Despite several first-team stars lobbying Zola to bring the player back in from the cold, the Italian does not want him in the picture.
He has been made to train with the reserves and was even offered a loan move to MK Dons.
Quashie, 31, is in the final year of his contract with the Londoners and does not want to jeopardise his claims to the remaining seven months of his contract.
The midfielder wanted 80 per cent of his deal paid up but the Hammers have refused to settle.
He is expected to take the advice of the PFA after being told to stay away and is currently continuing to report for training.
Quashie, who was signed by Alan Curbishley in January 2007, has not played for the Hammers for more than a year and spent much of last season on loan with Wolves and Birmingham.
Meanwhile Zola is to hold talks with striker Zavon Hines over a deal to stay with the Hammers.
The England Under-21 star, who scored the dramatic last-minute winner against Aston Villa last Wednesday, has a contract until the end of the season with the option for an extra year.
But the club are determined to sort out his long-term future.
