WEST HAM TARGET ANDY CARROLL

£4m for star striker would be offer Toon couldn't refuse

 Andy Caroll
KEY PLAYER - Andy Caroll

WEST HAM are set to make a move for Newcastle striker Andy Carroll in the transfer window.

The England Under-21 striker is one of the lowest earners at St James' Park and Toon owner Mike Ashley has shown before that he is not afraid to sell key players.

Carroll, 20, is important to manager Chris Hughton but a New Year offer of around £4million would be difficult to turn down. Birmingham and Bolton are also interested.

west ham is a great team thay will get out of the bottom 3 he would love upton park. Spurs was at the bottom of the table this time last year and thy finshed 8th if he scores goals he will be loved like cole.Plus he could get in the england team with rob green mat upson and cole so come to the hammes its better playing in london then up there .

West ham are in a relegation scrap....why would he want to leave ..we are top of the league and hopefully will secure pl again...he is first choice to play...plus he has not long since signed a contract...so he is probably going nowhere.irony would be, if he did go to west ham and they got relegated and we got promoted...

good young english player but if sell him for 4 or 5 million could get jermaine beckford, i think he'd score more.

Ashley will want more than 4 million for him and as has already been posted . why would he walk away from the league leaders too be involved in a relegation battle and miss out playing for his home town team in the premiership next season .

they can offer all they want he wont leave. just because ashley accepts the cash doesn't mean they can force carrol to sign a contract. Playing for the club you support and love is more important to some players than medals. And lets be honest are west ham Bolton or Birmingham a better option when the three of them are in the relegation battle this season.

Not at all hard to refuse. I find that a shake of the head, plus some verbal addition such as "No", "Definitely not" or (to paraphrase) "Get lost!" usually works.

It would not surprise me if Ashley sells Carol he has shown this week he is willing to recoup his millions anyway he can.

ask for five, who knows ? but if they only offer four take it .

I for one pray we don't sell him. He can be our Crouch in a few years and should not be sold simply because we have Ranger as well as Ranger needs a few more years to get better. I don't think he will want to move from a team about to be promoted to a team that is struggling in the relegation zone. It is also the way forward - having lower paid players who love the club playing the heart out and deserving a pay rise when they get one. We will not see any more Smith and Collocini type pay packets for a long time if ever.

Andy's a good player and a local lad. It would be sad to see him go.

There's more chance of Rooney going to Barcelona for £85m than Carroll going to West Ham for £4m.
