Sturridge, 20, came under fire after reports suggested his attitude had been poor following a summer move from Manchester City.
He has been told to change his ways by senior players who want him to realise his potential.
The England Under-21 forward suffered a frustrating start to his career at Stamford Bridge when he picked up a calf problem.
Sturridge managed to regain his fitness and made his first start for the club during their Carling Cup win over Bolton last Wednesday.
The talented forward admits he found it hard to adjust when he started training with the Chelsea stars, but now feels part of the squad and is ready to live up to the huge expectations.
Sturridge said: "I feel as if I am getting used to training with the players and showing my true colours.
"I am still getting used to the way the team plays. These are all experienced guys who have been through what I am experiencing so every day I like to go in and watch everyone closely."
Sturridge knows he has a big chance to cement his place in the Chelsea attack when Didier Drogba and Salomon Kalou head to the African Cup of Nations in January.
He said: "I don't know what will happen in January. I am just trying to work hard every day.
"If I get a chance before that I will be even happier."
