Rafa Benitez is many fans' favourite to succeed Pellegrini.
But president Florentino Perez wants the former Chelsea coach.
Inter Milan boss Mourinho, who was overlooked for the Barcelona job at the start of last season, is seen as fiercely anti-Barca.
That makes him just ideal for Perez, who is desperate to put an end to the Catalan club's dominance. Mourinho is also seen as the perfect man to get the best out of his Portuguese compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo.
Former Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has made it known he would take the Madrid post if offered.
But Real are keen not to change coaches in mid-season and believe Pelegrini can lift them.
If the team fail to win the European Cup in May, however, and Mourinho's time looks up at Inter, Madrid will make their move.

Mourhino is a great manager. and i don't understand what people always question Mourhino's style of play or attractive football! I find it hypocrite and just a kind of "old wives talks" because anybody who watched inter vs dynamo kiev last wednesday4th nov 2009, the style they displayed to win the game at last added minutes, would never doubt Mourhino skills. By the way, since he left chelsea, i don't see any different style there... they play the same attacking and defensive

If you are to create a complete galactios as you put it then i for one would go for Jose mourinho unlike the loserpool manager coz mourinho is a hardliner and more focussed than benitez. The goodness with mourinho is that he is a desciplinarian unlike benitez and leads the game quite well and can buy good players.

Mourihno wants the Man. Utd job. Taking Real Madrid will diminish his profile as flaky Madrid may fire him after 1 year.

They are overlooking Sir Alex Ferguson he might be the man for the short term.

This is a logical choice for Madrid. Who else except Morinho who always wants a most profilic job? It's either Madrid or Barca in Spain.
Let's wait for this in the next season. Morinho will definitely create a 'new order' for Madrd

Mourinho's style of football is very different from Real's philosophy of attractive play.Even if he wins La Liga or even CL with them, will be sacked anyhow. Looked what happened to Fabio Capello.

this is juct wast of money by Madrid, and what i think is they should hold the what their have at last for the next season to see how team will inprove. On the other hand i belive if the manager has to change this formation.
