MOYES SWEET ON ADAM JOHNSON

Everton chief keen on Boro academy product

Adam Johnson
WANTED - Adam Johnson

DAVID MOYES is ready to tempt Middlesbrough with £6million offer for winger Adam Johnson.

Everton boss Moyes admires the Boro academy graduate, 22, for his ability to play on either the left or right wing.

Johnson has already shown his immense potential by becoming a regular for the England Under-21s.

And many rate him as a better prospect than former Boro winger Stewart Downing, who is still recovering from injury as he awaits his Aston Villa debut.

Defender YOUNES KABOUL has dealt rock-bottom Portsmouth a fresh blow following their 1-0 home defeat to Everton yesterday - by switching allegiance to play for Morocco.

The former Spurs defender won 18 caps for France's Under-21 side. But he has exploited a recent FIFA ruling to opt for his parents' birthplace.

That spells more bad news for embattled Pompey boss Paul Hart with Kaboul set to face an extra series of injury risks and long journeys.

Unless Johnson is going to go abroad, I guarantee no-one will be offering him a pre-contract in January. (Because it isn't allowed in England. Only 1 month before expiry.)

"Name one player who's been bought for more than £10 million form the champ to the prem???"

STEWART DOWNING! Although as a Villa fan I would have rather spent the £12m+ on Adam Johnson & David Wheater. Oh well it could B worse, we could have bought Downing & Dunne for £17m+. Oh wait ...

mike and bluenose, your both idiots, in the current market he is definately worth 10 mil, but the fact is he's got less than a year on his contract and he's batantly waiting till january to get the best offer he can find. It's yet another classic southgate manouver (I'll wait till the last minute to try and get our best player to sign a new contract). Fact is Johnson will sign a pre contract in jan and play it out until the end of the season, all we can hope is we get a decent deal from the fact that he's been through our youth system and is under 24, but i wouldn't bet on it

If he is going to leave why would Everton pay 6m for him. They can start to talk to him in Jan about a free transfer in the summer.

Get a grip pal, teams don't pay £15 million for kids from the championship. Name one player who's been bought for more than £10 million form the champ to the prem??? Look how much we paid for Lescott and Jagielka and they had a lot more about them than this lad. Joe Ledley, he'll move to the prem for a bid in the region of £6 million. If he is THAT good then you'd better get used to the idea of parting with him and for a lot less than £15 million! And if he's got any brains he's more likely to go to a team like Everton or Villa than any of the big four.

Keep dreaming Everton!

Boro looking likely to be promoted, young, english, talented, top 4 looking at him i think your probably looking at 15 million min!
