MICHEL SALGADO has quickly proved to his new Blackburn team-mates that he's not just along for the ride.

Double Champions League-winning veteran Salgado, 33, jetted in from Real Madrid on a free in August but Rovers striker Jason Roberts said: "He's impressed everyone here since the day he walked through the door.

"He's got a winning mentality. Even in five- a-sides you can see how much he wants to win. That's a great example.

"He is the type of player who wins something and then forgets about it and looks to win more."
