Noble, who is being shown the door by Wigan, is believed to have agreed a deal with the Welsh club on Friday.
But the club will delay revealing the news until next week in respect to current boss John Dixon ahead of today's final League game against Castleford.
Aussie Dixon moves upstairs as director of rugby, but Noble will have final say on any new signings.
The club, who have only won three games in their debut season in the top flight, have already sounded out potential new players. But the details can only be thrashed out by Noble after he takes over.
The move will end Noble's troubled reign at Wigan and his stressful relationship with owner Ian Lenagan.
Ex-Bradford coach Noble is the most successful coach in Super League history and has led Wigan to three play-off campaigns on the trot.
He has taken Wigan to within 80 minutes of the Grand Final in the last two seasons.
But Lenagan is unhappy that the once-mighty club haven't won any silverware for seven years and has constantly undermined Noble's position this season.
He offered Noble's job to New Zealand coach Stephen Kearney in June, but the World Cup winning boss turned it down.
Lenagan is also understood to have sent Noble a text in April telling him he would not be offered a new contract when his deal runs out in November.
