TRY HARD - David Hodgson

THE Giants cemented their play-off spot as they bounced back from their Challenge Cup final heartbreak with this seven-try win.

The writing was on the wall as David Hodgson crashed over as Huddersfield opened up an 18-point buffer by the break.

Liam Fulton and Larne Patrick danced through some poor tackling to add further scores.

Winger Hodgson then turned provider with his clever pass to free Paul Whaturia for a simple run-in under the posts. Shaun Lunt added a brace before Fulton collected his own kick to go over for a second time, with Leroy Cudjoe bagging a 14-point haul with the boot.

Rock-bottom Crusaders grabbed consolation scores through Anthony Blackwood, Steve Tyrer and Mark Lennon.

SCORERS - Crusaders: tries Blackwood, Tyrer, Lennon; goals Tyrer (2). Giants: tries Hodgson, Fulton (2), Patrick, Whaturia, Lunt (2); goals Cudjoe (7).
