ERIKSSON WANTS LJUNGBERG AND VIERI

Notts County offer pair lucrative pay packets

Freddie Ljungberg
TARGET - Fred hot on Sven

SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON wants to offer Freddie Ljungberg and Christian Vieri the chance to finish their playing careers at Notts County.

The big-spending Swede is set to splash the cash again after signing defender Sol Campbell.

Former Inter Milan striker Vieri, 36, and Arsenal legend Ljungberg, 32, could be tempted by one last lucrative payday to help County get out of League Two.

Swedish star Ljungberg is playing in the American MSL for Seattle Sounders.

Vieri, who netted 23 goals in 49 matches for Italy, recently had a trial with Blackburn.

County director of football Eriksson has already landed keeper Kasper Schmeichel, as well as Campbell, and is intent on bringing Premier League football to Meadow Lane in the next five years.

The ex-England boss has been in charge when it comes to recruitment and team selection.

Keeper Russell Hoult started this campaign and kept a series of clean sheets but he was booted out after Eriksson signed Schmeichel.
