Owen Coyle's men stunned Manchester United in midweek at Turf Moor with a 1-0 win.
But the Clarets must keep repeating Wednesday's display, with Chelsea and Liverpool next up after today's clash with Everton.
Mears, 26, said: "We hold no fears. We've beaten some of the best sides during cup games during the past two years.
"The youngsters are hungry and want to go out and show people what they can do.
"And the older heads are confident of matching teams at this level.''
Defender Mears arrived from Derby in the summer, having spent time on loan at Marseille.
He admitted: "It's a different atmosphere from Marseille.
"In France the facilities were unbelievable and everything was done for you.
"But this is a family club and the players thrive on that."
