BOO BOY ¿ Emmanuel Adebayor is robbed by Tshifhiwa Mmbooi

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR was upstaged on his City debut by a £950-a-week striker rejected as a teenager by Chelsea.

Jeffrey Ntuka, on the Stamford Bridge books six years ago, hit the first-half winner to clinch the Vodacom Challenge for the Chiefs.

Adebayor, who arrived from Arsenal last week for £25million and will earn £170,000 a week, played the whole game in Pretoria but looked well off the pace.

Fitness

He said: "I am a long way from where I need to be in terms of fitness. We need to try and improve quickly. We are hoping John Terry will join us. Six months ago nobody said Carlos Tevez or myself would be joining but we did. So why can't we sign him?"

HULL boss Phil Brown saw just why he needs a striker so desperately in a 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday.

Michael Owen, Fraizer Campbell, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Bobby Zamora have all opted to turn down moves to the KC Stadium.

Caleb Folan and Daniel Cousin both missed good chances before being hauled off at half-time.

Zamora struck twice as FULHAM bagged a 3-3 draw at Peterborough.

Fulham were three-up at half-time but Aaron McLean and George Boyd, who hit two, hauled Posh back into it.

Peter Crouch and David James were left out as a flimsy PORTSMOUTH side's trip to Blue Square South Basingstoke Town ended 0-0.

Liam Lawrence scored late on as STOKE crashed to a 2-1 defeat at Preston, whose goals came in the first half from former Liverpool striker Neil Mellor.

A scratch SUNDERLAND side visited Oldham and won 2-1.

Adam Reed and David Dowson struck for the visitors, with the Latics netting from a Pawel Abbott penalty.

WOLVES flopped 2-0 at Bristol City with Danny Haynes' right-footer and Nicky Maynard's 30-yarder corker doing the damage.

Just a start of that nature can make things work smartly for a man like adebayor whom people truly want to perform beyond with arsenal in the past three seasons.
Am hoping he can cope with everything at the East lands starting this season

city have still 3 or 4 players to come in yet..and your all writing them off..we'll see when we get into the top 4 this season..Arsenal won't make the top 4 this season. All the talk seems players jumping the sinking ship

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! ade your rubish! 25m? your not even worth 25p! i also agree with the quotes above, without the creative players of the well gelled arsenal squad you would of been nothing! apart from robhino and maybe ireland being the only quality service in the city team your gona struggle! and now your saying your a long way from being fit, your a joke! at first i was bitter but when you actually look at the situation you find he was a moody overated uselees burden on the team! now maybe bendtner (ho is still only 21) can have a good run in the team and show us fans what wenger (the professer) see in him! p.s ha ha ha ha ha ha

ADI need five chances before he has a shot on target.
Just because he had one good season (and that was because of the players beside him) does not mean he is Henry
