You Derby and Forrest fans make me laugh, talking about Pompey as if your bigger clubs...what have youone in the last decade? If you want to go back hundereds of years then yes you were good, but at the moment, Portsmouth is a massive club compared to Forest, we are Premier League, just won the FA Cup, and most certainly would kick your ass if we played you!

attendance is irelivant, but if u want 2 get into that derby hav no competition cus they the only club so no competion, nottingham has 2!! so derby hav more fans = more revenue, look how much that did 4 them last season, 1 point ahead ov forest, wow n comin from a club that was in the prem the season b4 wiv all the money the fa gav them 2 get bak there after relegation, pathetic, forest will finish higher this season!! EASY

Sorry seanyboy, not a Derby fan. Sorry to disappoint you! However whilst you bring up their support its worth noting that they out sell you by 9000 on average. Thy do not offer freebies either but they do offer incentives linked into other purchases. I work in Nottinham and know that unless you do offers such as kids for a quid or adults for a fiver your attendances do not reach 18000 which puts you 13000 off Derby! I also know Capital one give away 2000 tickets for every home game so people in glass houses and all that eh????
I also know that Derby sold 25000 season tickets last season compared to your 12500.
Care to comment on that?? Also why bring up past glories against part-time opposition?? Derby have won the league twice you know??
As I said I do not support Derby but I do have family that do. I just have a general dislike for Forest fans on the whole and you "living in the past" attitude is a great example of why!

Oh and another thing. Anyone who mentions Wes Morgan as a comparison to Des Walker has seriously lost the plot. Walker was a fine player who played at the highest level. Morgan well lets not really go there. Mind you he has had 3 seasons in League 1!!!!
Good comparison there seanyboy. Showing your football knowledge is second to none. How embarassing!

You are right, journeyman is the wrong word. I corrected my mistake in the last post and put average whichis more applicable. Forest and Portsmouth are similar sized clubs fan base wise ( I am not a Pompey fan BTW.) I do think Davies is wasting a lot of your chairmans money though by giving out long contarcts to average players. 3 years for McKenna and 4 years for Blackstock and Camp. It beggers belief. You could quite easily end up in the same position as Derby who he also burdened with poor/average players on long contracts, then when he realised that he had messed up he jumped ship and tried to take the moral high ground. On a final note, I hope Hart does well for Pompey as the way he was treated at Forest was scandelous.

mssg for daz - concentrate on derby pal and stop obsessing over twice european back to back champions Nottingham Forest - and by the way dawson was born in hull ! as for our other young players going on to better things jenas, prutton, reid, etc all were sold to balance the books when times were hard but at least we did things the right way. right now forest are a buying club and have no need to sell anyone let alone club captain and the best centre half since forest legend des walker. as for our support well we dont have to fill the city ground with free seats taken by school children to make up the numbers.

Daz please, Forest certainly arent a big club, but they are not small when we are talking about Portsmouth ! Forest also havent spent 'big money' they have managed to do some cracking deals for young proven championship players who will surely improve, they have also bought 2 senior experienced championship players to help steer the ship. The logic is right they need to gel and hopefully they will. Finally I dont see how Mckenna can be a journeyman having only played at one club

By Wac. Posted July 26 2009 at 3:06 PM.

McKenna is and always has been an average championship player. Not bad but nothing sparkiling either otherwise he would have been snapped up by a prem club well before now. You need to take off your red tinted specs an get a grip of where Notts Forest are in the scheme of things. They are a lower/mid table championship side. The last 10 years should tell you that. Their attendances are not great and their performances on the pitch have been poor. If your chairman ever decides to throw his toys out of the pram you are well and truly done for! It seem that this season is his last throw ofthe dice and your manager is wasting the money on underachievers. I predict that he will leave you before the end of the season and then your chairman will have no option but to spend again thus plunging you deeper into debt. Lets be honest, in 2 or 3 yers time you will not even be th biggest club in Nottingham.

By daz. Posted July 26 2009 at 12:13 PM.

Wes and James are not near premier league quality, infact they seam to just be able to cope in the championship.

Paul Hart is just turning to Forest because he has no other options.

I say James to stay and Wes to go, Hey we may even get Sol a a replacement.

By Darren. Posted July 26 2009 at 11:51 AM.

journeymen players like McKenna
----
You have no idea what you're talking about

By Red. Posted July 26 2009 at 11:39 AM.

Why would anyone go to Portsmouth at the moment? In financial trouble, selling all their players and have a coach who has never done anything other than develop youth players. That is said from a Forest Fan! Perch and Morgan are worth about £2.5m in total so if we get offers to that amount they should be taken but I doubt they would want to leave for just one season in the prem.

By Andy H. Posted July 26 2009 at 11:41 AM.

Just because they are born in Nottingham means nothing. Camp is Derby born and bred, McKenna has been at Preston all his career. Sometimes players need a new challenge. They have obviously opted to try and get a smaller club challenging for mid table. You only have to look at some of your other players who were Notts born who have gone on to bigger and better things like Dawson, Jenas and Commons. The lure of the prem will be too great to turn down if Hart is serious about making a bid. Especially when they will never get the chance to do it again as lets be honest Morgan and Perch are ordinary to say the least!

By daz. Posted July 26 2009 at 11:26 AM.

i wasn't a big fan of super Wes, but i've been very impressed with him this year, however a replacement for Campbell, oh that did make me chuckle, and Pearch has just had his best season. why leave a club on the up (well hopefully, and to be honest with the signings we've made plus one or two fullbacks we'll be in a lot stronger position) to join a club on the way down, who in the best scenario will be fighting the drop all season

By rob molson. Posted July 26 2009 at 11:04 AM.

Forest are a building club and on the way up. Why would 2 nottingham boys go to a club that is selling it's players and clearly gonna be relegated next season anyway. They will want the success with their home town clubs. Forest will be a promotion challenging club from now on, and they will both want to be part of it.

By jonnyp. Posted July 26 2009 at 10:56 AM.

If the have any sense they will jump at the chance of Premier league football. Forest are a small club and will not be challenging for promotion for the forseeable future especially when they are spending big money and long contracts on journeymen players like McKenna, Adebola and Camp. Paul Hart did wonders at Forest on a shoestring budget and had the rug pulled from under him by an ungrteful board. I hope he gets them back by signing their better players now.

By Daz. Posted July 26 2009 at 10:21 AM.

Forest are on the up and pompey are on the way down - no brainer really, they're both notts lads and have been with us through the bad times so the'yll be sticking around for the good ones guarenteed - harty £3m each may just tempt the forest board but they aint gonna give you that sort of money to throw around, remember last time you had big money to spend ???????

By seanyboy. Posted July 26 2009 at 9:41 AM.

Jams
Forest are in the championship. Get with the times, you'll be playing them next season.....

By Hozza. Posted July 26 2009 at 8:49 AM.

a quality premier league signing then! we are doomed if we are going to sign league one players to play in the premier league

By jams. Posted July 26 2009 at 8:33 AM.

chris morgan dont play for forest, WES MORGAN does and no chance will they be leaving anyway
