England beat Australia by 115 runs in the second Ashes test Monday to go up 1-0 in the five-match series.
The victory was the first time England has beaten Australia at Lord's in 75 years. Australia resumed on the final day with five wickets left, chasing a record-breaking 522 for victory, but pace bowler Andrew Flintoff took five for 92 to seal the victory.
This is to be Flintoff's last Ashes series.
Australia's counter-attack to derail England's bid for victory started to crumble this morning - after the Aussies picked up a bit of form yesterday afternoon.
Aussie vice-captain Michael Clarke was bowled by Swann for 138 - adding just 13 to his overnight score of 125 not out last night.
Wicketkeeper Brad Haddin - who's partnership with Clarke had raised the Aussie's comeback hopes - was dismissed for 80 early this morning - without adding any runs to his overnight score.
Hauritz was bowled for 1 by Flintoff and Flintoff took his FIFTH wicket, bowling Siddle out for 7. Then Swann bowled Hilfenhaus out for 4 to take the final wicket.
The tourists were reduced to 128 for five on the fourth day of the second test.
But when bad light stopped play, Australia were 313 for five - thanks to the efforts of Clarke and Haddin - having been set an unlikely 522-run target.
The partnership had clearly got England in a panic and England captain Andrew Strauss summoned his team together for an on-field team talk when the new ball became available late on in the evening session.
And while England failed to take any more wickets yesteday they took full advantage of the almost new ball this morning to take the win.

When, oh when, are they going to provide rule books for test umpires in braille!

I think this Ashes series will be in favour of England prior help from Umpires.Just watch 3 decision gave against Aussies in 2nd Innings and 2 decision in 1st Inngs.what a shame.ICC should implemant immediately referal system and finally Andrew Strauss should be fined for cheating.

The umpires sent the Hauritz catch to the 3rd umpire for review and it proved inconclusive so not out by benefit of the doubt to the batsman, why was the Strauss catch treated any differently?
Just imagine how much the English would be panicking if it was 2 for 313 with a day to play.

England seem to have a mental block, whenever anything remotely resembling pressure is thrown at them. It is for this reason that they never seem to be capable of killing teams off, although on this ocassion i do believe they have given the Aussies too much to do.
