JOHN DALY plans to end his putting woes today after a third round of 72 kept him in the hunt.

The 1995 Open winner - dressed in Austin Powers-style 'shagadelic' floral print trousers - kept his cool to remain at two-over for the tournament.

So far the big-hitting American has resisted the temptation to unleash his driver and has opted for measured iron shots.

But it is his flatstick which is causing him a few problems.

Daly said: "It's been a rough couple of years with the putter but I am slowly getting it back. I'm pleased with the way I'm hitting the ball and giving myself some opportunities to make some birdies."

Elsewhere, Bryce Molder shot a stunning round of 67 with a bit of divine help.

The journeyman pro started the day in tied 53rd place but blasted his way into the top 10.

Molder's previous best showing at a major was tied 30th at the US Open in 2001 - but he made five birdies in tricky conditions.

He said: "I woke up and said a little prayer, just to help me enjoy the day.

"I was fighting my swing in the practice rounds but I slowly got it back in the right direction."
