SPURS IN FOR PETER CROUCH

Pompey fan here, a lot of negativity towards Harry here but for all the wrong reasons.
Redknapp is a legend, he won the FA Cup with Portsmouth - I repeat - with Portsmouth - he bought players like -Johnson -2m (sold for17m) Diarra- 5m (sold for 20m) - Muntari -7m(sold 14m)and those are just a few. The guy knows how to run a football team and steadily buy to improve a team year on year.
That said, I will not be shedding too many tears for crouchie, who-scored 7 league goals last year and has generally ruined the football at Pompey. We used to playnice little traingles and then he arrived and when the going gets tough, whether its Tottenhm, Pompey or England everybody just hits it at his head, he is also the most unfairly penalised player in the league simply because he is so tall.
He was very good alongside Defoe however, and Tottenham fans calling defoe average -your absolutely nuts -the guy is an idiot who through his toys out the pram when he wanted to leave but you cannot question his unerring ability to score a goal in every other game, he is a predator and your lucky to have him! Just like Harry!

Peter Crouch? honestly? can Spurs not buy in anyone better than peter crouch? First they bought Bent - dont even get me started on him, then Pavlyuchenko... we're supposed to be buying great players to challenge for europe, instead we're buying players that MIGHT just keep us in the premiership! So much talent out there and we're scraping the bottom of the barrel, again! Why cant spurs buy a prolific striker that will score in nearly match? Dont get me wrong though, Spurs have Defoe and Keane who are both great strikers but 2 isnt enough to win. We need someone of a higher caliber that Crouch to challenge for anything..

As a Fulham fan I'd be delighted to see Crouch in to replace "Jigsaw" Zamora. With a decent footballing side around him Crouchy is a cracking player. So what if he can't score in the air much for a big man? At least his feet know where the goal is!
Fulham's the right club for Crouchy - a good manager, good discipline, decent football..and he gets to move back to London and play in Europe, which he won't get with either of the other offers. My only worry is...can we pay his wages?

Peter Crouch is a top class international player that always gives 100%. His paternership with Defoe was excellent and for England his goal scoring record is exceptional. He is 28 and has a few seasons left in him. He has scored 10+ a season and with players around him that are not in the same class as what we have already.

I would rather we go and Get Klass, as he is awsome but I would welcome Crouch along with Klass Jan!

All these people slating crouch clearly don't know what they're talking about. At worst he will be a useful addition to the squad and effective substitute. He's a good finisher and, until spuds split them up last season, was forging a really good partnership with defoe at pompey (which could have had positive reprecussions for england). He's proven premiership quality, unlike douglas costa, who would probably cost twice as much. And, although he's got potential, 20+ milli is ridiculous for 'potential'. The transfer market's gone mental this summer and all prices seem to have hugely inflated because of Madrid and City's willingness to pay over the odds.

It's getting embarassing the way spurs keep bringing back ex-players to the club! We shoudn't have sold Keane and Defoe in the first place, but so far this year we've got back both of those plus Chimbonda and now possibly Crouch...?! And where's the money coming from? We've consistantly spend £35m+ on players each year for a few years now plus we've got a new stadium to build. Slow up Harry, or at least spend £12m on better than Crouch.

what is that sunderland fan on , every player you go for redknapp goes in for , what one player crouch , what about bruce going for bent , zakora and daweson all spurs players . i would'nt want kenwynn jones , i'd welcome crouch , he's a proven striker in the prem league is a far better striker than bent or pav , if we are going to move forward then we gotta bid the 30 million for young , and cudicinni should be our first choice next season .

Harry is as crafty as a fox. He is waiting for an answer from Klaas-Jan Huntelaar on Monday regarding his proposed move to WHL, if Klaas-Jan Huntelaar says he's off to Stutgart then Harry will bring in Crouch as his second option.

Would be a great signing. Forget selling Pav and Bent they are the perfect backups for Defoe and Crouch.

I totally agree with spurs1950, for the life of me I cannot understand what arry's upto. Bringing back Keane was his way of pleasing the supporters because Keane was so popular,however, Rafa had him sussed, hes 5 yards off the pace and tries to influence the manager/board which makes him a bit of a troublemaker ans as you all know Rafa aint ganna have it. To say Crouch is better than bBent is a joke etc,etc. I could go on all day, look forward to another season of mid season mediocrity

The Mackems don’t need Crouch they do however need a hard hitting forward to play alongside Kenwyne Jones who just needs to toughen up and get a bit more aggressive in the box and I believe that will come.
It's a good thing Crouch is tall because he can't jump.

Dear Harry,

Please don't sign Peter Crouch. He is 28 years and whilst a semi decent player - his level is Portsmouth, Sunderland or Fulham. Try and go for potential instead - Douglas Costa - worth spending more up front which we can then recoup.

Ollie, your another who doesnt have a clue what your on about.

Keane was brought back, because he has that fighting spirit, something we desperately lacked at the start of the season. We didnt buy him back for more than we paid for him, that was only Defoe, but we were still owed money on him anyway. Cudicini came in for a FREE and it was nessesary we got him as Gomes was having a nightmare the first half of the season. Chimbonda was probably the one we could do without. However with Hutton out at the time, it was good cover.

Corluka played a lot last season and is a great player, to say he isnt given a chance is beyond me. He is a first team player and I am sure Harry views him that way. You also say Pav or Bent didnt get a chance, one of those 2 played in pretty much every game last season, so again to say they didnt get the chance shows your lack of knowledge.

Redknapp, hasnt signed anyone so far this transfer window yet, I think pretty much every other club has. So again wasting money???? You also say he could do what he done to West Ham, Portsmouth? Both clubs have had there most succesfull periods under him?? What you getting at?? Also the dont improve players? He improved our whole squad last year, revived David James, Campbells, Distins, Glenn Johnsons careers, thats off the top of my head.

So basically your post is one of the worst I have EVER read!

firstly spur1950, Crouch is an improvement on Bent and Pavyluchenko. He has proved that he can link up with Defoe and is an established premiership player.

I agree Harry is dodgy but you cant take away what he acheived with our club last season. We had a good team on paper that simply werent playing together, he solved that and in Palacios brought in a player we had desperately craving for years. He brought Keane back, Chimbonda and Cudicini and so far has been very shrew with spending money. So though you obviously dont like 'arry try look at what he has done to improve us.

so i must i then iam another one 23cup finals [charityshields not included]ive been too watch spurs for 50yrs played for 35 run teams and yes i neaver run a pro club please dont tell i dont know nothing about football arry is as dodgy as george graham and arry inherited a bloody good side and u cannot tell me otherwise and dont insult anybody by calling them a gooner peter crouch we sold way back and shouldnt bring im back not good enough and not better than wat we have which arry said he would only improve on! otherwise leave alone
