if left alone, wenger can turn the gunners into a mid-table club because of his atrocious policy in the market.
Though i am not in support of those redefining the football market thrrough unjustified overpricing, i think wenger is legging far behind.
he should put arsenal in its rightfull place by investing in quality players. right now i don't know why he is not buying a quality striker and a quality anchorman.
it also defies logic to see wenger buying a spent force in the form of Michael Sylvestry. and it further boggles the mind why he sold Senderos last season and is even contemplating selling him this season.
maybe all this is because wenger has a masters degree in economics & is putting his knowledge in practice. "doing well with the slimmest of budgets"

Wenger should have snapped Tevez while he still had a chance....the should change France as his hunting ground.There are a lot of good players else where in Europe.He brought in a good player like Ashavin...the guy was an unknown property in most eyes in Europe...bit look at the game he played against THE REDS last season...ho showed us what class he is irrespective of whether he came fro a country like Russia.

How about this and don't laugh, buying Kevin Davis. He would put himself about, unsettle defenders and let the more skillfull players score the goals. Keep him for one season and sell him on. Another year on and the youngsters will be more experienced. I know he is getting on a bit, but it might just work.

Fantastic bit of business for Arsenal ,reputed 25 million for a player that cost 2-3 million and we get
rid of what must be the laziest player ever to don the Arsenal shirt.My preference for his replacement
is Huntallaar from Real superb finisher and would be perfect to finish off all the chances that go begging.
Just a thought with rosicky coming back from injury
and with Arshavin purchased in Jan does this mean Theo will be switched to a central striking role?.
Wenger still has to address the defensive midfield

I agree about Chamakh, his goal scoring record is pretty poor & nowhere near Ade's in an easier league. Never seen him but he's 25
7 not very prolific so what does he bring? We need a goalscorer. But you are a bit mixed up otherwise. Mido, Zaki (Wigan) & Ghaly maybe you mean are Egyptian not Morrocan.

I'd also go for Huntelaar. He'd cost a little more but is more of an out-and-out striker & has a much better scoring record.

...and whoever said flamini & viera are not DM's is an idiot. Maybe not like a Makelele but DM's nethertheless. They played for Arsenal where the whole team attacks together so they get fwd but their job is to protect the defense & break up the play & allow fab to do his thing. Admitedly Viera was less so in his later years at Arsenal & was often box-to-box but he had Gilberto to cover as the DM so he could get more advanced.

chamakh is 2x the player adebayor is. He draws defenders, dribbles, passes, and scores. Most importantly he gives 110% for 90 minutes. Chamakh will flourish at Arsenal, and will make the whole team better because he bother defenders. plus he has good head game. SO PLZ before you start saying he's rubbish watch a video of the guy. he is better than Adebayor and definitely better than Bendtner.

I am a Chelsea fan but I have always admired good football just like Arsenal have played even though it has not been gifted by a trophy during the last years.
IN MY OPINION Ade had become too cocky at Arsenal and Arsene would not have any of that so the move to Man City might benefit both . But surely most of all it would b enefit Wenger and consequently Arsenal if the money is to be spent wisely on a good experienced midfielder and maybe another backup central defender.
And finally i AM SURE the gunners will still be top contenders for a long time to come just like Chelsea.

dont care about who comes in as a striker or maybe not. The jury is definitely out for those out on the pitch this year. Another trophyless year will be the end-off arsenal as top 4 I'm afraid. Gauging by perfomances in recent years, i think we need height, strength and experience to fight and regain our rightful position (1st/2nd and ofcourse ahead of tottenham!!!!!)

If he had being a substitute for some matches he wud ave opt up is game, he was only actin like a king bcos there was no real substitute 4 him but now dat he's gone Arsene Wenger needs to plan ahead. Wengers not stupid, he's a master poker player...shows you what you may not want while he plots away behind closed doors. He'll be thinking of a defensive midfield general and a forward to bring in but then that depends on his hopes for bentner and vela, if he thinks they will come good this season then he mite opt for Chamakh for cost reasons and although i dont know a great deal about this player he seems to be a link player rather than a 'fox in the box'. What ever happens i have faith in his judgement because he hasn't failed us yet (although we all know there is room for improvement).

I'm staggered that we are not being linked with any defensive midfielders. Alex Song is a good talent but we need more quality and experience, whilst Denilson is NOT a defensive player. Diaby is inconsistent and Im not even sure what position he is best in. I think Wenger wants the following team for the new season: Almunia - Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy - Rosicky Fabregas Song Nasri - Arshavin Van Persie = subs = Fabianski Toure Djourou Song Eduardo Chamakh Bendtner Vela Gibbs Eboue Denilson Diaby
